Emi2 and SJM bring great intensity to our team and when either is out, or not playing well, it is obvious. Buendia has struggled for consistency this season, but when he is on it he is world class. I'm glad we're keeping him.

It's true he seems to play better with Youri and Ginny to back him up. At one stage during the second half, Buendia even won a free-kick by sticking his arse out à la Meatball!

Liverpool spent the best part of £120m on a player frankly not fit to lace his boots on the evidence so far.

Yes!!

So did Phil King, but it doesn't mean we start him in every game or keep him forever just for that reason.

It’s funny how we have these players some say are not quite good enough, but we’ve been chasing the top four places since around October.

Yes, quite a few have had poor spells of form and yet we are still up there. Unai Emery has worked miracles.

Erm, no of course not. I was just recalling a magic moment I’ll forever associate him with, I wasn’t trying to make a case for him to start every game.

He has had some crucial and spectacular moments, no question.  However, to be where we want to be, he is nothing more than a squad player.

Yep, he's great as an option to fill in here and there but the more of a regular starter he becomes the less of an impact he seems to have.

Tough crowd!

Absolutely, but over his time here the only thing he's been consistent in is how how inconsistent his performances are. The highlights are great but the lows are just too low for him to ever be a player I'd want to see in the team week in and week out. even this season, where his best performances have been the best he's ever shown for us, he's still put in too many where he's been anonymous or detrimental to our play. I know some people compare him with Rogers but for me whilst Rogers can be a little inconsistent he's been good far more often than not.

Agreed, posters have been known to take a position on a player and despite increasing evidence to the contrary are not for turning. This is Buendia's best season at the club and maybe of his career. The 15 G&A assist stat is great but he brings a lot more in any case - tactical flexibility, ball winning/scrapping etc. Let's just enjoy it. I'm delighted for him.

His goal at Spurs from the Cash pass was sublime.
I've always liked Buendia even if he can be very frustrating to watch at times: very skilled and tenacious.

Any fantastic team goal we score or chance we create, Emi usually has a part to play. Surround him with 'like minded' footballers and he excels. Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, sccccooooooorrrrrrchioooooo.

He is much less effective without Tielemans, McGinn and Kamara. He misses their movement, awareness, intelligence and passing ability. Tis like trying to make a 147 break without a black, pink or blue ball on the table.

We can not rely on his battling abilities alone but he has an important role to play in our squad,

A 'horses for courses' player that Unai uses wisely.
