Eight goals this season, plenty crucial and plenty spectacular.

What a season this guy has had, I expected very little or nothing from him and he’s out performed our expectations perhaps more than any other player this season.

He has had some crucial and spectacular moments, no question.  However, to be where we want to be, he is nothing more than a squad player.

Yep, he's great as an option to fill in here and there but the more of a regular starter he becomes the less of an impact he seems to have.

Does a steady job but nothing more. Use the improvement to mug someone off and sell him in the summer.

He's a completely different player when McGinn and Tielemans are in the side, I know that's the case for most but moreso for him than anyone. It's only then that the spaces open and the ball finds him in them.

He's been a great option this season, unless someone offers saft money i'd keep him for next season.

And 7 assists.

They extended his contract when he went on loan to leverkusen (?) so there might not be the urgency to renew.

We might get £30m, whereas last summer we’ve been lucky to receive £15m.

Is a reliable, but not world beating, Buendia better than a £30m gamble on a 23 year old; after all that only bought us guessand last summer.

Tough decision to make.

I don't think the club said for how long the extension was but suggestions are it runs until 2027.

This is where I'm at with it.  He's a very decent squad player.  If someone offers us the kind of money that would allow us to pick the bones of (for example) Spurs, should they be relegated, then fair enough.  But if it's a case of sell him and buy in some random player with no pedigree, I'd rather keep little Emi.

I'm not convinced any other player at the club could have linked up with Rogers the way Bendy did for the first.

Interesting how Rogers plays better with more technically skilled players around him. He also is more willing to share the responsibility rather than try and do everything himself. Not signing Asensio last summer was a major mistake as he was sat there waiting until it was too late for Villa to make the move permanent, Rashford only had eyes for Barca, Malen never got the minutes though he's another who's great with his feet. Sancho does have talent but I rarely see him link the play.

Buendia gets so much stick on here yet always puts a Watkins type shift in which goes ignored. You only had to see the first goal to appreciate how much Rogers and Buendia compliment each other. Yes they both give the ball away too often but the skill they have more than makes up for it. Unai's no fool and fortunately he can see what Lil' Emi brings to to team.

Love him!
