Emi you are the new Alan Hutton, treated poorly by some but when given your chance you have really stepped up.

Thank you Emi

Best Comeback since Elvis in 68.

I think Cash is running him a close second and Onana not far behind.

His contributions are timely and come when he is used as an impact player. He’s a proper terrier, fights for everything and snaps up chances like scraps dropped from the table. So happy for him after what must have been a horrible 18 months.

Cash (the man in black) had a fine resurgence in the 90s with the American Recordings but I don't recall Onana ever having a musical career to resurrect.

There was something really wholesome about how Emi celebrated his goal (and, indeed all his recent goals). It's not with the cool panache of Onana or satisfaction of Watkins or Malen etc.

Instead, he genuinely looks shocked, elated and not quite knowing how to express himself sufficiently. Almost as if he is a fan. I know it's based on a player who has had real lows in recent years but it is such a joy to witness.
And of course he very nearly joined Arsenal instead of us so he must have ran the whole gamut of emotions in that post-goal clarity.

No, but he was namechecked in 90s songs.

Emi celebrates like Hitz and Hendrie did, sheer spontaneous joy rather than any contrived celebration bollocks.

On the radio, the commentators were creaming over a control by Emi. Apparently the ball came from a very high height and he was surrounded by players, he just easily trapped it then passed it to one of ours. I’d love to see it.
