To come back from first the injury then being effectively discarded is an absolute credit to him, he's clearly mentally very strong.

He's well on the way to 'Huttoning' himself, you can't help but love a player that doen't give up.

Yep, now we're seeing why we bought him and Emery is getting him ticking along nicely. So good to see. I've always liked him but wasn't sure he'd be able to reach the highest standards again, as we'd seen it all to briefly before his injury.

Watching this again I can’t get enough of that double ‘clink’ as it goes in at the far post

Of all the stuff that went on through the summer up until the end of August, the last thing I thought would happen is Buendia would be a critical cog in our turnaround especially after Elliot was brought in.

He's ahead of McGinn now and is clear favourite for the Ballon d'Or.

Meanwhile, Leeds fans are questioning the meaning of life having refused to cough up £15m for Buendia in the summer.

Love a goal with a good sound effect. Staunton's goal away to Man United in the 92-93 season comes to mind.

The more I watch the Spurs goal, and I must be wearing out the internet, the more I think he ruined the move by not volleying it into the top corner.

He's let us all down.

Just imagine if Rogers had been offside (which they did look at) and it had been ruled out!

That would have been an interesting decision to make for the ref as the first time Vicario even noticed Rogers was when he looked around from the ball in the net. And it is still hilarious his insistence on the offside afterwards.

Buendia is proving me wrong and I'm happy about it.  Could he have a season like Bailey did the year before last?  Doesn't seem impossible does it?

Haha, I had the same thought. I believe the current phrase is "My steak is too juicy and my lobster is too buttery".

It's funny as in Bailey's break out season there was a game at Anfield early on that he was brought on and taken off. Seemed like the end of the road for him under Emery. Harsh enough call from memory.

Same happened v Brentford earlier this season with Buendia. Harsh again as Rogers was dropping a 2/10 and left on instead. Looked like the end for Buendia. But Emery isn't a manager really to write off players, he had Bailey and Buendia back in the team very quickly.
