Beginning to love him.  Works hard, always makes something of an impact. Loses the ball, but makes a nuisance of himself to win it back.  Top man Emi.

Time for some humble pie. I said at the start of the season I just didn’t think he was good enough and after a couple of less than stellar performances, in fairness along with the rest of them, it looked like my opinion was vindicated. However since then he’s been superb either starting or from the bench. Keep it up Emi I look forward to further goals, assists and terrier like yapping at opposition defences.

Player of the season for me.

Has always looked a good player to me even in Monaco last year.

Last two goals were of the quality he was getting at Norwich before coming here. Effortless curler into the corner today. Sancho and Elliot have a lot to do to get into the team.

I too thought he wasn't good enough.

Apparently he’s not good enough apart from all the good stuff he does

I’ll hold my hand up and say I didn’t think he was good enough, he’s showing that he certainly is and long may it continue.

Same. I’m warming up the humble pie, but not quite ready to eat it yet as I still think he is a squad player and not in the starting 11 when everyone is available.

Another one being made to look silly here. He was brilliant when he came on today, not just the goal, but completely changed the game.

It was a great finish (though the two preceding passes were of even higher quality).

Churlish perhaps, but I still have misgivings over the overall cohesion of the team when Emi’s on the pitch. That being said, it wasn’t an issue today.

Delighted for him (and for us) in any event!

I’ve always rated him, he’s always impressed me with his attitude, tenacity, technique and work rate, but now he’s really starting to shine.

I thought his time with us had been and  gone to be honest but he's been an added bonus. Really pleased for him.

He has always given plenty of effort but has in the past been guilty of losing the ball too often.
He has been very dynamic when played this season and a knack of scoring important goals.
He obviously really likes playing for the Villa so good on him.

Save a slice for me. His first couple of appearances this season he looked keen but not quite up to it but he’s found his feet and now looks an integral part of the squad.
