I suppose it only takes a couple of injuries/sales and he’s needed, but I still think we’d sell at anything upwards of £15m and use youngsters as backup.
Laughable comment in fairness .

Which bit Coops?

Buendia has certainly had a productive pre season in terms of goals. His energy, like Watkins, also makes him a good forward presser of the opposition. I've always liked Buendia, despite his carelessness with the ball at times and I wouldn't be looking to let him go unless it was an offer to good to refuse.

Thats my position too. I’d prefer him fully involved and earning his wages rather than a depreciating asset in a bomb squad. I also still have hope Emery can work his magic and a £20m+ offer is made or a new contact offered.

He signed a new one in January.

True but that was just to protect his value with a view to selling now/soon in my opinion.  I’m hoping he justifies a three year deal by fulfilling his potential.

We'd move Buendia on in a heartbeat if we got a reasonable offer. He's never shown any sign of being consistently good enough, neither before nor since his injury. I'd love to be wrong but it isn't going to happen.

If an offer came in for Buendia that we thought good business we'd take it, irrespective of what happens with the others.

If an offer came in for any of our players that we thought was good business, we’d take it.

£20m would probably get him.

I reckon we’d accept less than that LV. Isn’t he going into the last year of his contract?

Well it was a figure around that amount that we agreed with Leverkusen, so we definitely wouldn't be asking any more than that.

I’ve always liked Buendia, I hope he’s given a chance to shine and can grab it. He’s a tidy player and makes things happen. It doesn’t always come off but he’s a bit different.

That was my thought, then I scrolled down, saw two posters who are pretty much perpetually wrong in their opinions also think the same and decided it would be better if he left ASAP.

Emi is a cracking little player, busy, always involved, technically very good and surprisingly good in the air for someone of his stature. I also like that he's willing to get stuck in.  Unfortunately, he lacks pace (both at top speed and over the first few yards), which means he often gets caught in possession, and is less dynamic in helping us transition from defence to attack.  Which is why I don't think he's ever going to get into Unai's team, long term.  If he was quick over the ground, he'd probably be worth £50m.

All that said, I think he's a good squad option if we can't move him on to free up some funds, and he'd be a useful option from the bench when we're trying to break down tiring defences who are sitting deeper and deeper (where his lack of pace becomes much less important).  I don't see him starting too many.
