Yeah, typical that the day he cuts out the sloppiness the previously serene Kamara picks up the mantle

It never ceases to amaze me how good he is with his head considering his size.  Not so much with 'arial duels', but when the ball comes into the box if he can get his head on it, it's usually going on target, and he's quite good at finding space in the box.

That's the key to it with Buendia, moving around. He's good at finding areas where he gets little flicked headers on target.

Only other day I overheard Buendía talking emotionally about the fans calling a chant his name, its just so positive around the training ground these days.

Very telling what Buendía said on the record.

"As soo(Emery) came, we had a good meeting and I understood everything that he asked of me.
I think his ideas are perfect for my game. I really enjoy every game"

Buendía has been able to thrive in Emerys tactical system. Above all, I believe he is making good progress. He can play football comfortably off both his feet and understands Emery's instructions. It's no coincidence that they can communicate in Spanish, Emery has suggested for him to be calmer in his play and he's embraced this and his role in the team and has become an essential player in my mind.

Those angled/looping headers of his are some of the sexiest football sights we've seen by the Villa since the JG years (Grealish, not Gregory. The sexiness of his team only lasted for the whole of Spring '98 when he took charge 25 years ago this month).

But yes, Emi's header at Goodison last year was sublime and didn't he have another headed goal stolen off him by Konsa against Leata at VP last season? I'm curious whether he used these tricks at Norwich or if Nanny McPhee has initiated this.

Thanks mate! Glad to read this. As much as it's possible to have a favourite player in this post-whathisface era, Emi is probably mine.

Also I think these are the words:

Emi Buendia
From Argentina
He signed for Villa
From Carrow Road
He's five foot seven
He's football heaven
Please don't take, my Emi, away

I'm surprised this hasn't cooked up a punathon!
