He showed glimpses.  I hold out some hope.

He has shown glimpses of quality - the through ball tonight and the one against Brighton which Ings failed to capitalise on.  These moments in games have been interpersed with some really poor play and it was the same again tonight.  Just gives the ball away too much in games at the moment.

Hasn't done much to convince me, but like bailey I give Gerrard time to work on him,

Some of his touches on the ball were fantastic - but he needs to work on  a lot of areas of his game to prove he is £30+ million footballer for me

He's got no pace to lose so I cant see why we dont put him on a weights programme to bulk up and make him harder to knock off the ball.

He’s definitely got the good player not clicking yet about him. A bit like Bailey but not quite as injury prone touch wood

He's got superbly quick feet, and a great touch. He's slower when running with the ball than glacial drift though, and his passing is shocking.

Most overrated signing now for quite some time.  The amount of ball he gives away and not that pacey.

The pass aside i'm not convinced.  Whether he's just struggling to adapt or he's just a bit shit you can't carry a 30m passenger every game at this level. I suppose he's at least fit to play occasionally which is more than you can say for our other big summer buys.

He's clearly not very happy with things at the moment though. Lots of moaning to the bench and pointing at players.

I still like him but he needs to bulk up a bit as he's a bit too easy to brush off the ball.

I don’t think his passing is shocking - it’s exceptional at times. But he is careless with it at times.

Totally agree - I was saying last night that he has some nice touches and clearly has something about him, but unless he can stand up to the physical side of the game he won't be a success in the Premier League.  He is knocked off the ball way too easily, and came out second best in every 50/50 challenge he went into.

It pains me to say it, but we need him to get a lot more like  he who shall not be named.  He is physical enough win tough challenges, is a bugger to knock off the ball, and when he does go down it is invariably on his own terms.

£30m players are probably the best passengers to carry ?!
