If it's a straight choice between Buendia and Ramsey, it has to be Ramsey right now. Not writing Buendia off but tell him to fight for his place and justify it when he gets a chance. Sanson is another option too.

But that’s the point it shouldn’t be a straight choice - Buendia isn’t a central player.

Good championship player struggling to see what he is bringing to our team

Needs to work on his fitness, could be another player who is just at the club for the money

I bet Norwich can’t believe that they duped us for £38 million

He's not been great so far but he scored a very good goal for us earlier in the season and looked good last week before he came off. How about giving him some time before saying we were duped?

I'm not sure how you come to ridiculous conclusions on a player when you've not had the chance to watch him play in his position yet.

We buy Traore, EL Ghazi, Trezeguet, Bailey and Buendia. All wide players, for the best part of £100m. Then pick a formation where we play with no wingers and use full backs pushed forward, neither of who can beat a man or cross the fucking road.

It's brain dead stuff from Smith at the moment.

Absolutely. When you think about it, it's incredible.

Yeah, he needs to go out wide. Not effective as a No.10

The main problem is that he’s not very good - certainly not a 1/3rd of Joe
Nonsense

Which bit?

He's shown nothing so far.

He doesn't look like one the three players that were supposedly replacing Joe.

I'm hesitant to be too hard on him because he's been played out of position in a system the whole side has been struggling with, which doesn't suit most of our attacking players. The only one it benefited was Cash to be honest, and that was initially. Because now he's finding the downside...he's overworked and unsupported defensively, meanwhile our LCB and RCB regularly look lost in whether to stick or twist. Too many cooks spoiling the broth in central defence.

If we can get back to an attack system and play our widemen, we might start seeing some hitting form. There are flashes from Emi2, but the manager has certainly made things harder.

For £40 odd million, he should be playing better irrespective of position. End of .

He hasn't been great but some people are desperate to jump down his throat.

A number of times yesterday he would battle to win the ball, not have a single Villa player anywhere near due to our shite formation and, surrounded by Arsenal players, lose the ball, as you might expect.

Cue the match thread and there would be loads of "FFS, Buendia"/"£40 million for that shit"/"get rid" hysterical overreaction posts on the match thread. Watkins and Ings lost possession more often and didn't face the same criticism. Whenever we have a skilful player certain sections of our support are desperate for them to fail, and then use any misplaced pass or tackle by the latest scapegoat as confirmation bias to back up their opinion.

Look at all the tedious "all fart, no shit" posts on the Grealish thread before loads of our fans conveniently forgot that they'd written him off, and people who used to moan like fuck about Ashley Young when he was easily one of the most exciting players in Europe.

Some of our fans would only be happy if we had a team full of Pulisite players who can run all day but never look like doing anything exciting with the ball.

Not that I'm saying he played well, he didn't. But those writing him off already and racing to be the most offended by every less than stellar touch of the ball are plain weird.

Anyway, he will, eventually, play in his proper position and will play well for us. Some of those who have already written him off will take longer than others to admit it.

He has talent and an eye for a pass, some of his touches are lovely.
He has not fully settled yet but hardly his fault being played out of position.

Do you honestly believe certain sections of our support are desperate for our record signing to fail??
