Worth pointing out he also won the ball back 9 times, which is pretty great.

Exactly, but why bother with the positive side of things when people can look at the negatives 😉

So we did sign that DM that we all wanted.

I thought he played well. He is slight but he his ultra competitive out of possession, especially so for an attacking player.

He was rubbish last night, did absolutely knack all of any use. Number 10 isn’t his position.

Would you start him ahead of Jacob Ramsey?  No and that's before you consider Aaron who is possibly the better play.  A lot of money spent on an unproven player - let wait and see.  Ps he was alright last night, hate his antics though

If we stick to the new 5-3-2 which we surely will against Man U, then he isn't starting. And I'd then be bringing Traore on ahead of him, who played really well last night.

Yeah he's shit, let's just get rid of him .
FFS give the guy a chance, why are so many posters so down on our players?

I don't think anybody has suggested getting rid of him.

FFS, why are some posters so hysterical at the slightest bit of any criticism of a player? :)

Buendia will come good for us. He's a classy player, and the main thing is for him to realise that he is not a slam-dunk to play: he has to earn his slot in the starting XI.

My opinion on him is pretty clear.

He obviously showed at Norwich he was a good player and will in time show that for us.

Way some were going on when we signed him it was like we'd signed prime Messi.

Leon Bailey has the quality to push us into the top 6 and get us beating some of the better teams, don't quite get the same feeling from Buendia but could be wrong of course e.g. with Bailey in starting 11 he could really hurt Man. United on the break, don't get the same feeling from Buendia.

He played well against Brentford and made some intricate passes. Then he's had the whole international call-up and training in Croatia debacle. He'll come good in time.

I thought he was ok the other night and was better at winning the ball back. Still needs to
be stronger under challenge.

You've also got to bear in mind where they both came from.  Bailey's been playing top flight football for a top team in a top league for the past four/five years, as well as his appearances in the Champions League and Europa.

Buendia spent last year playing for Norwich in the Championship.

They're different calibre players but the coaching staff clearly think there's something there with Buendia or we wouldn't have signed him for that amount of money.  We need to give him time to show that.

His ability to hold on to the ball was my only concern with him when he signed and it's still a concern having watched him a few times. When he gets a yard of space he can pass and shoot but if he gets rushed he can be bullied and that needs to improve if he wants to succeed with us and if he wants to break into the Argentina side.

Its very early days but people are going to give their early impressions, it's only natural. As long as people aren't writing him off after several appearances when we know he had the quality before he came here and seems to have the right attitude. I don't think anyone has done that though, personally i think he's very talented but it's not a given that he'll be a big success for us for a number of reasons. We'll have to wait and see.
