Watching Ollie's first goal last night, Emi B is dribbling the ball with his right foot before making the slide rule pass with his left. For Ollie's second he made the amazing pass with his right foot. There's two footed and there's Emi Buendia.

My brother always mentions the 2010-11 Season Preview.

Blues had had their bestest ever season in 2010 (still finished below us) and Four Four Two predicted they would qualify for the Champions League.

They were relegated and haven't been back since.

Four Four Two predicted Blues would make the Champions League? Blimey they should have disbanded the publication for that.

If E=MI2 can provide regularly from one side of the pitch it is going to take away teams ability to double/triple up on Jack. With a direct running number 10 (Bailey perhaps) it will give defences nightmares, especially considering Watkins' ability to get behind the defence... happy days maybe here again, indeed.

I love watching players like Buendia. So effortlessly comfortable on the ball. Reminds me of the better days of the likes of Carbone and Curcic.

I'm trying not to get too excited by him, but he looked a genuine class act on the ball.  To temper my excitement, I keep reminding myself how good Jota looked in pre-season back in 2019...

I bloody loved Carbone’s brief time at the club.

He scored an absolute worldy from just inside the opposition's half against someone I can't for the life of me remember!

That's the sum total of my memory of Carbone!

Leeds in the FA Cup perhaps? I was gutted when we didnt sign him permanently, I vaguely remember some newspaper story about him going to fucking Bradford and a picture of him on a quad bike.

Edit. The song we played when he scored, what was that all about.

Leeds in the Cup, when they were top of the league.

Shouted shoot jokingly and he did and smashed it in!

Was that the cup run when we looked so exciting and then shut up shop in the final against Chelsea?

Carbone, Ginola both suffered with Southgate like managers who saw them as luxury players (I hate that term)

brilliant players and entertainers but Like Grealish they don’t fit into a system easily, they have to be the system

Yeah, think we beat Darlington, Southampton,  Dirty Leeds, Everton and Bolton on the way.

Mind you, we were crap against second tier Bolton and lucky to get through. Holdsworth missed an open goal for them. Some bloke called Eidur Gudjohnsen was the best player on the pitch, Shane we didn't sign him.
