Ruthless efficiency from the club on this one. I can't believe where we are now compared to three years ago, makes me wonder where we could be in another 3 years.

3 years ago we'd just fought off administration for an unpaid tax bill.

It's not that much further back when we'd have made this announcement just to shift a few more season tickets, and then watch him sign for someone else.

Still wondering around the outskirts of Tanworth collecting balls from his shooting practice at Bodymoor.

I remember watching his youtube compilation when he was linked with us and thinking fuck me we've got ourselves an unknown gem here. Poisonous stuff those youtube montages.

I like the way that he seems to be comfortable shooting with both feet. That will be very difficult to defend against.

Watched him in a friendly and he took corners with either foot.

Sounds impressive, but they were equally shite with each peg and still haven't landed.

Wasn't he racist too?

Hope Buendia is as good as everyone on here says that he is - if not, then you all need to be sacked as this would prove you all would now nothing about what makes a good footballer!

I will reserve judgment until after 20 games for our great club.

Why has this thread turned into a tonev discussion? He was a cheap punt that didn't work out and left pretty quickly 8 years (and 2 complete boardroom takeovers) ago and this is a thread about us signing an Argentinian playmaker for a club record fee.

cheer up Sid this isn't bad news - that's talking to a close friend on Sunday and discovering he'd died a day later, as I did this week.

thanks Andrew reminded everyone who knew him of how kind and decent  people can be - a true gentleman in every sense and a fellow Villa supporter.
