Absolutely buzzing with this signing. The best thing I've liked about him over the last few years is how positive he is. It's no surprise to see how high he ranks on through balls and progressive passes, he always seemed to be looking forward at the first opportunity and trying to make things happen. Can't wait for next season already.

Ruthless efficiency from the club on this one. I can't believe where we are now compared to three years ago, makes me wonder where we could be in another 3 years.

3 years ago we'd just fought off administration for an unpaid tax bill.

My God, just about every thread on that Norwich forum is about this transfer. It's like we've unpedestrianised the city centre.

I imagine a lot of the posters are kids as there is clearly a lack of knowledge on our size and history.  I suppose to be fair we have been a sit sleeping giant for 10 years now and there will be a generation that just doesn’t know that we have always competed with the big 6, just not lately

Hang on a minute. Half of the "Big 6" don't get close to us on points gained in the top flight of English football, so for most of our history we've completed at a level above them.

What Norwich fans don't realise is those three seasons in the Championship, two of which resulted in a play off final and one of those in promotion, represents one of the worst periods in our entire history.

Any one of those seasons would've been a good season by Norwich's standards!

You’re right, even I have forgotten!

3 years ago the players were drawing lots to see who would turn off the lights. What a transformation!

Well Villa have sort off announced it

Aston Villa and Norwich City have reached an agreement for the transfer of Emiliano Buendia.

As Emiliano is currently in the Argentina national team’s biosecure bubble, preparing for a World Cup qualifying match with Colombia on Tuesday evening, he will undergo a medical and complete the transfer after the game.

https://www.avfc.co.uk/news/2021/june/Villa-reach-agreement-for-Buendia/

Excellent

It's not excellent he's still to pass a medical, it's excellent, when he passes the medical and signs the dotted line, until that happens let's not get too excited.

Bloody hell Lew, did you get out of the wrong side of the bed this morning?

I apologise Jwarry I didn't mean to rude.

Back then they massively overspent on a player who did not want to go there. He couldn't wait to get out.

Absolutely. Dean spoke last week about how 'strategic' our owners are and from what I've heard about the deal they really understood how to get the business done where everybody ends up happy. There's a clip of an Arsenal fan complaining how his board after chasing Buendia for over 12 months couldn't match us for efficiency. Long may it continue!

Promotion a season early was massive but on reflection that point at West Ham was even bigger. Think of how far back we would be had we gone down that day.

I mean in the context of attracting next level players. I didn’t put it very well 😊

there’s a good article on the athletic about ‘what Norwich miss when Buendia does not play’.  Surprisingly it is his defensive qualities and high press that make him stand out.  Southampton fans were also saying that a key part of JWP’s game is the high press.  It all suggests that there an actual plan in action.

Watkins, an unshackled SJM and Buendia will give most defences a torrid time.
