Best moments of the season?
« on: May 23, 2021, 09:47:54 PM »
Well?

For me, if I picked five, they'd be:

5) "Juggling balls for Christmas"
4) Arsenal 3-0 away
3) Leicester 1-0 away
2) Louie Barry's goal vs Liverpool
1) 7-2

Plenty of great moments though.

What about you?

Jack's highlights reel away at Leicester. And Arsenal. And West Ham. And Burnley.

How we lost those last two I'll never know.

Again in reverse order:
5. Palace home win 3-0 when down to 10 men in the first half.
4. Arsenal away. Totally dominated them and even after missing a few chances ended up 3-0
3. Bertie goal against West Brom and the 3-0 win
2. Spurs away win. Dominated the match.
1. Chelsea today. Being there and a totally competent performance against a team who was  desperate to get get a result for 85 mins.

Two relatively minor ones, but Traore vs West Brom and Traore vs Bristol City.

Quite a few to choose. Palace at home on Boxing Day, utter domination with just ten men made it an excellent Christmas period and Anwars goal was class. I would have gone for the 7-2 but I didn’t watch it live at the time so I lost out there on that experience .

Jack away at Leicester? Can't recall 'owt out of the blue...

The Liverpool result/performance is a Comet-occurrence, impossible to see beyond it.

Liverpool 7-2 the highlight.

Honourable mentions for Palace and Arsenal 3-0.

Barry v Liverpool was probably the goal I celebrated the most though.

Loudest cheer from me was probably Barry's goal in the cup. Most satisfying winner, the late decider at Wolves.

Greatest game, by a mile, the 7-2.

Those who are still alive will be talking about that in fifty years.

Liverpool at home because it could have legitimately been 10
Arsenal away because it could have 5 or 6.
Liverpool at home in the cup because they had to bring on world class players in the second half to win the game vs our U12’s
Leeds away because we never let them play their game
Palace home - we were just very, very good.

Beating Liverpool 7-2.

Will give an honourable mention to one that could easily be overlooked: beating Fulham 3-0 away on 28 September. That night I just knew we were a different proposition this season. Watkins worked his socks off and in our first two games we had two wins whereas  we had only had 7 wins after 24 games in the previous season.

Best single moment, Louie Barry’s goal. But a pretty enjoyable season, big step forward.

The seven goals against Liverpool, and genuinely knowing it could have been ten.

Louie Barry’s ecstatic reaction to his goal in the FA Cup.

So many. Fulham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Palace, Tottenham, Everton, Albion games.
Quality of the football played at times this season was excellent.
Quality of Grealish, Konsa, Mings, Targett and Martinez.  Smatterings of what is yet to come with Traore, Cash.
A proper number 9 Striker to be proud of in Ollie Watkins.
The hope, desire and pride is back. Our stance within the footballing world is improved and taken seriously.
