The 7-2 Probably the best performance of a Villa team in my lifetime

There have been quite a few, which is such a nice feeling given the last ten years or so of being a Villa fan. However, in ten years time, the main thing from this season that we'll all still be talking about will be the 7-2 win against the league Champions.

Plenty of other highlights, but that result, that night, will live long in the memory.

Two things that will live long in the memory:

Barry's goal, the most I celebrated all season.

Martinez making that save yesterday then standing up and doing a "Scott Brown" in front of the fans in the lower North Stand.

Liverpool. They had no excuses either. Watkins totally did Van Dijk.
Yesterday was really satisfying.
Barry's goal, because, well it was Liverpool.
There were so many other good moments too.

Next season.
The FA Cup win obviously.
Beating Man Utd, not just once either.

Yep,, the stand out is the Liverpool 7-2 win. The thing about it is that they know it could easily have been 10. Overall it’s that we are now taking points from the media darlings and long may that continue.

Two games against Liverpool - the 7-2, and the FA Cup game.  Hard to separate the two really - the league game was the most incredible individual result I can think of in my Villa-supporting life.  The FA Cup game, because the kids did themselves & the whole club proud.

There have been so many beating Liverpool 7-2 , Louie Barry scoring against Liverpool, the wins over Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and West Brom and the Football we played at times this season was brilliant the players have been brilliant for us I've enjoyed it so much this season I can't wait until next season.

That 7-2. That was the day of the Virtual London Marathon, which I'd been training for the entire year after it got pushed back, and I'd been out for over four hours running loops in the piss rain. I thought I must have had a heart attack and was sitting in heaven, watching us dismantle the team I most despise in the universe.

Special mentions: smashing Palace as the Beeb's Boxing Day game - nobody could be in any doubt we were back.

Traore at the Yawnthorns - what a pisstake of a finish.

Davis equalizing against the Bitters - he'll never score in the Prem again, so effectively relegating that self-satisfied wanker Allardyce was ace.

Louie Barry - lived our dream.

Iwabuchi's worldie for the Villa women - you can't coach that kind of talent.

So many fabulous moments this season but I’m going for the 3-0 at Arsenal. We played them off the park in there own manor, brings tears now thinking about it. Barry’s goal against Liverpool had me screaming at the top of my voice outside the front door. So many more, Emi celebrating his save yesterday with the fans  just brilliant

I thought we were absolutely magnificent at home to Liverpool and away to Arsenal in particular.

Jack away at Leicester? Can't recall 'owt out of the blue...

The Liverpool result/performance is a Comet-occurrence, impossible to see beyond it.

The Leicester clips, his performance just built up until he was taking the piss out of three (very good) players at a time. It was pure joy.

What a player. Not even a 'memorable' performance  as proven by this thread. He's so chuffing brilliant.

The 7-2 is clearly top, any other choice is a bit mad. Liverpool had their sticky patches this season so it's easy to forget that was them fresh off a title win, hot favourites for this year's championship and with their best team out. We took them apart, it didn't seem real. Arsenal away, Palace home, Leeds away and the last couple of games are up there too as others mentioned.  We've had a couple of nearly moments from Jack too when he's taken on half the team at home to Leeds and away at Burnley. He'll finish one of those off at some point and score the sort of goal that goes down in history. Hopefully it's for us.

But most of all over that early part of the season, it was the routine, comfortable 2 and 3 goal wins which I loved. No jeopardy and enterprising, attacking football.
