Same as Risso and Rory, the 95-96 home is my favourite ever!

I bought it at the time but it's very 90s. The two I mentioned earlier have aged much better.

I've got a wardrobe full of loads of Villa shirts here in Tokyo. I'm actually wearing the 2001-02 home shirt as I type this. Not a blue sleeve in sight, and it's a bit purple. Not a big fan to be honest, but brings back good memories of going top of the league after beating Bolton 3-2. I also think we wore it in the last home game of the previous season whilst sending Cov down.

Some real favourites are the 2007-08 long sleeve Nike home, 95-96 blue away, 2004-05 white Hummel away, and 2010-11 black long sleeve away.

That 2001/02 was probably the nadir. To manage to have a shirt that wasn't claret or blue, FFS.

Ha! I knew you'd hate that one.

I do like the collar though. I know that is really stretching things!

Those first two Diadora kits used a horrific shade of "claret" and weren't helped by the garish NTL logo. Did like the all black away kit in 2000-01 though.

A shocker to be filed alongside some of the mid-late 80s ones.

Where do you sit on away kits, cd? I mostly think they can do what they like, but my recent least favourite was the purple and white quarters thing. Just so badly put together, it was awful. Lerner's obsession with checks was a bit odd as well.

I'm similar, do what you like with the away kit. I rarely buy them so not sure on things like the fit or the stitch, just basing opinions on how they look. I didn't mind the quartered one though I shared your aversion to the weird checks we kept having down the side of the kits.

The Rotterdam kit is clearly the greatest away effort. I think my favourite away kits during my time watching were the two white and black Mita-sponsored ones at the end of the 80s/start of the 90s. The only ones I really hate (not counting when we had to dress as Small Heath for the odd game back in the day) were the 83-84 hoops mess or the 85-87 mustard monstrosity. Luckily both were, just about, before my time.

Agreed. The long sleeve black one is a beauty. I have the white/cream coloured third in long sleeve from that season also. I'm not sure if we actually ever wore it.

Yes, that quartered one is crap. I picked up the long sleeve version in a second hand clothing shop in Tokyo for about £4. It's really tacky, but surprisingly comfortable.

The white Acorns effort from 2009-10 just trumps the Rotterdam kit for me.

I'm worried now what list I'm going to be put on :D

2009/10 was smart albeit a bit England for my liking.

For some reason, and I have no logical reason other than I like the design, I’ve always wanted to see Villa in a Peru style design for an away kit.

Always liked 92-93 the most but as I’ve got older I tend to favour the previous kit, 90-92.
