Not a fan of it at all.

What's so difficult about a plain claret front and blue sleeves?

Classic, perfect. This is neither of those things.
Because they have to keep making it different from previous shirts..
Inevitably the style changes lead to more and more variations.
It would be great if the club returned to authentic shirts using sustainable materials but that seems unlikely.

I think the 2 major comments about this sum exactly why I find all the angst over the shirt a bit much.

A group of people are upset because it's a bit weird and doesn't look enough like a traditional Villa kit.
Another group of people are upset because it's too similar to last season and is just ripping fans off.

The club have an almost impossible task of keeping both of those 2 group reasonably happy.

I think I said somewhere in this thread that I like a novelty kit once a decade or so - as in 1994 and 1999 and, 2018/19 (not including that 2001/2002 effort).

However, this decade we have had a few striped efforts now plus the non blue sleeve effort. Next year I want something traditional, back to basics. In 1995/96 we went back to basics after the striped effort and I think that should be what we aim for next year.

I would love to see us go back to keeping a home kit for two seasons.

It’ll look fine with Jack Grealish in it

Still looks terrible to me

Managed to make a guy who's quite hench as the kids say look like a skinny teenager.

Impressive that it looks ill fitting even on professional athletes.

Gives us all hope.

To give it a bit of balance, I really, really don't like it.

But then again, I really, really don't care too much as I am never going to buy it anyway

Irrelevant I know, but have we ever had a strip with a blue body and claret arms?

I couldn’t really care less about the kit so long as it’s claret and blue (or in the last few years there or thereabouts). If we do well this season then in five years everyone will be calling it a classic.

If it's any consolation we had stripes in our kit the last 2 times we got to the FA Cup final as well wearing them in '57. It's our year! :)

If they wanted to go for the two tone claret option, they'd have been better off including a darker claret lion, 1874 or any other detailing against a lighter claret background on the main body of the shirt.

As per the 95/96 effort.

Instead of naff looking barcode efforts.

I always wondered why we didn't just have a "reverse" of the home kit as the away kit

Nope. The half and half kits would be the closest to that in the 1800s.

Because usually when we.have.a blue we get some people moaning that.blue is the colour of.inferior teams. I remember a real uprising against the.blue.95-96 away shirt. I liked it.and it sold well I think but a lot of.people didn't like it

For those who want Nike

I like it.
Obviously with claret and blue swirls, though
