Villa 1 Albion 0   Attendance  47,998

Brendon Baston gives us a helping hand on the way to our first title for 71 years, the great Peter Withe gets the winner.

I suspect the real/unofficial attendance would have been more than 47,998. I remember listening to the game on BRMB.

I know of the goal, but that's the first time I've ever seen it.

Nicely taken by Withe.

Albion ended up 4th that year and were still in with an outside chance of the title at that point as far as I remember. A dreadful nervy game, but when that goal went in!

I was reading elsewhere, that BT sport are doing a documentary on Villa winning the title in the 80-81 season

Should be interesting to watch - if I had BT sport!!!

I think it's about the European Cup win, and it's coming out next year.

I have just printed a list of our great 14 and added Ron and special guest Bosco Jankovic
and i've printed it off to raise a pint to each and everyone of them.
Will be a heavy and expensive session but way i look at it is that i'm unlikely to be around
to celebrate 50th, or if i am, not in a fit state to have a day on lash which i can still just about do.

Have a great day one and all!!!!

I was 10 and listened to the Arsenal game on the radio at my granny’s (RIP) in Small Heath. When Bosko did his bit for the cause it was so exciting. Such a lovely memory.

The sight of all those Villa coaches snaking in convoy down the motorway was phenomenal. We just made kick off ! Will raise a glass to the Villa clan later

Great day. The nerves obviously got to us as we were v poor.  Managed to nick  some of the turf and plant it it in my mom and dads garden when I got home. Got v close to Pele who was ushered through the crowds before the game

I cried.

I warned my son before kick off at the Arsenal cup final that I would cry if we won. It was also his birthday that day.
