How much space does HS2 need at Washwood Heath?

All that space is currently earmarked to be sidings for HS2.

Well presumably, on any site we are looking at, we will be looking past what is on there now and imagining what could be on there?

There are plenty of dickheads from other cities and clubs that would refer to Aston in the same way, and try and build a new fucking stadium in Edgbaston or Sutton Coldfield and see how the locals respond.

Isn't a huge amount of it due to be sold no the northern legs have been cancelled?

Might it be possible to put an offer in for some of Holford industrial Park? Sitting conveniently and historically between our original home and our current one.
We could even offer them a part ex with the site of Villa Park.

Beats me?

As far as I am aware its still allocated to sidings. It will have a tunnel underneath it, dont know if that affects its suitability?

If we were to hypothetically build a new ground in that area, the old DAF and surroundings, I'd guess the parking for it, and journey to it would be much the same as now.

There is a massive chunk of the HS2 site that is being released back to the market.

I guess the ideal location would have been the IMI site. It was massive and is now just sheds...

The best (sensible) sites mentioned were the Royal Mail sorting office in Newtown or the gas works in Nechells.

Barely anything of the Main Stand at Anfield survived, bar a profile of the first few rows of what is now the new lower tier. It's a complete rebuild. There's no reason we couldn't do the same. The Main Stand is ginormous too and dwarfed what was there before.
Time lapse video for anybody who likes that sort of thing.
That's the sort of thing I envisaged we might do at the North, not losing most of the capacity in the process.
And, if we could purchase the houses on Holte Road - behind the Witton Lane Stand - do something similar on that side.
But, I think my pragmatic side says, just move to a new site (if a site can be identified and made available, of course).

They didn't fully demolish the main stand at Anfield. The basic structure remained. To do what we need to do to the North it's a full demolition of the stand as well as changes to the Witton and Trinity. That's why I can't see how they'd be able to the North while it's still in use.

To be fair, selling tickets for a stand in the process of being demolished is probably the next big plan.
