No blaming the players today. It’s all on Smith

Smith has undeniably got his lineup and tactics badly wrong, but i'm not sure you can give a pass to players who are strolling around, not bothering to track back, not bothering to close down and continually making basic errors.

We don't have 11 men out of possession and McGinn is 1 man against 2, so we leave space. Add in that passive element, especially from Elmo and its poor stuff.

Definitely think we could do with having a lump up there, as corners have where we have caused problems.

I think Sky are making far too much of Grealish here. This is Brighton all over again, only Brighton are an awful side and incapable of punishing you.

Can Sky stop trying to blame the lack of Jack? More to it than that.

You can't be without one player and then have the right to collapse.

Leicester are better than us at the moment. It is no shame to lose to them.

However the lack of competitiveness, the lack of midfield shape, the lack of organisation, of energy, of desire.

There's no excuse for that.

Dean just has got to look at how he sets us up. There is nothing wrong in being cautious, in having a strong organised midfield. In making the opposition work for every chance.

And the female pundit got it dead correct in one sentence. Villa midfield not giving any cover whatsoever to the defence.

Her name is Alex Scott

We are not deep enough yet as a squad to absorb the loss of our best player. That’s obvious. What we should be better at is tactically not being able to at least make it hard for better teams to simply do as they want.

FFS! He's not giving the same line up another 15-20 minutes, is he?

I love Dean Smith but hes  got to make a change. I can’t understand why he doesn’t.

If we can keep this as 2-0, it’ll be an ok afternoon now.

Indeed. We've been poor this year after a brilliant December. As for today, Ads summed it up perfectly in his previous post.

Sky will presumably be trying to undermine the rest of the team in the hope that Grealish will be tempted away by one of their special clubs in the summer.
