Such a shame and condolences to his family and friends.
That very season was the first time I bought a season ticket so I'll always remember him as the manager who started my run of being a ST holder up till the present.

Rest in Peace Dr Jo.

RIP Dr Jo. That night against Milan won’t be forgotten by us who had the pleasure of being there.

‘Josef Venglos claret and blue army’ all through half time away at Milan to bemused ‘Inter skins’. Result rubbish, great time though.

RIP Dr Jo and thanks.

I always felt in results in the first three games had have gone better things may have been different. Draw at home to Southampton, losing somehow at Maine Rd when battered them, and losing at Anfield to a last minute wondergoal from John Barnes.
We were clearly trying to adapt to a more pass and move style, and it seemed the belief went from the players when the results didn't come.

RIP, a great choice of manager if only because he scanned beautifully into "Claret and blue army"

His league season wasn’t the best but I will always have fond memories of Inter, our kits that season and the likes of Tony Daley and David Platt in the side. Happy days. RIP to a man who deserved better than the cheap shots the Evening Mail took at him.

I realise that I’ve now bought that home shirt 3 times.

Sad news. A good manager, and seemingly a good man.

That's bought back some memories as I went to virtually every game home and away that season and you're right. That Man Citeh game particularly was as a travesty - Andy Dibble rugby tackled David Platt (or was it handball) for a free kick outside the area. We looked a good side but fell away badly post Christmas, Man City at home was not fun.

Sad news, RIP Dr Venglos.

As others have said, he was well ahead of his time and I don't think the players were ready or understood enough about his techniques.
