I am now forgetting all about that game and the corrupt VAR ****** who didn't need 5 minutes agonising over the difficult dive decision.

Oh, and Fuck Man United. ******.

It is easy to know whether Pogba deliberately brushed his foot into Dougie's calf, as the cheating ****** castigated Shaw for not falling over and diving for a penalty 5 minutes before.

It's simply not a penalty under any circumstances and I am fucking astounded anybody thinks it is. 33 in 59 games. Fucking Juventus would be proud.

When was the last time we beat Man Utd by a dodgy penalty decision? Or Liverpool or Chelsea or any of the other Sky favourites? It just doesn't happen. When a club like Villa start to become a threat they always ALWAYS find a way to screw us over and keep the big earners on top. We have played Man Utd twice this season and on both occasions a crucial decision has gone their way. Right now I fucking hate Premier league football as I think it's rotten to the core.

After sleeping on it I thought we played very well. I think we need more from Traore defending. I know some players aren’t suited to the dirty work, but again there was a chance for them that was identical to the Giroud goal. He left Cash isolated and was more or less standing still. Other option is getting Jack out wide and putting another destroyer in the middle.

The Penalty. I thought in real time it was one, Luiz was too tight and wasn’t going to win the ball. Watching again I think it’s soft.

Smith was harsh on the first half performance. Which I’m happy to see, can’t let the players get too carried away with how we’ve been doing. I like how he’s demanding standards.

As for United, title challenge? No chance. Liverpool will not be worried.

If I’m honest the penalty bothers me less than the missed yellow cards. Ultimately ropey penalty decisions always happen  - especially against those fuckers. But I’ve noticed teams persistently foul our players, particularly Jack, and fouls are given but it takes an age to give yellows. That directly fucks up our play giving other teams an unfair advantage. At least 2 players should have been sent off for them last night and it makes a big difference.

Let’s not get dangerously close to sounding like other whinging fuckers.
‘It ay fair’
‘Them spawny ****** won because of VAR, again’

It was a crap penalty decision.
The gave them a fucking tough game.
We are improving massively.

Onwards and upwards.

My immediate reaction was that it was a penalty. When played back, it is clear that (i) both players had their arms up, and (ii) Pogba trips himself. VAR is there to provide that detail. The fact that they stayed with the onfield initial decision - in my view - obviates the use of VAR.

Villa's finishing let us down: we played well (albeit a little de-energised, I thought) and created chances but failed to convert.
Ollie Watkins is a fine player; one who - I think - needs to play left of another striker. I was a great proponent of brining Callum Wilson in over the summer. I wished we had done so, because the two of them would have scored shitloads together.

I found Bent and Cole's comments regarding Jack being good enough to play at another level very disrespectful and an insult to the rest of our team.
We matched and at times were better than United in most if not all areas of that game.
We lost out to a lousy penalty decision and nothing else.

22 fouls. McTominay, Fred and Matic kicked the fuck out of us. And he called us physical.

I cannot abide that club.

Has there ever been a more disinterested or disengaged manager than ogs? He looked like he was sulking sitting on the naughty chair last night. Is he really managing that team or is somebody else really pulling the strings behind the scenes? I suppose he doesn't really need to look interested when he knows he's got refs and var in his back pocket.

Those penalties are allways given. Luiz got the wrong side.
The ref was soft on the persistent fouling but we made 2 errors that led to their goals.
We did not take our chances, we are not quite good enough.
How did Luiz get the wrong side? He was alongside Pogba in the only place he could be. He did everything right. Pogba stuck his leg into Doug's leg and tripped himself up. You could argue that Doug got a little too tight on Pogba but that was his only crime. Pogba cheated. The ref  fell for it and VAR turned a blind eye.

Luiz was correctly goalside of pogba who was running across the 18 yard line (not even towards goal).
He was being impeded by the outstretched arm of pogba (obstruction) who then decided clearly to trip himself up. No penalty and var should have picked this up if it was fair and just, but it's not.
pogba's running style reminds me of Phoebe off Friends.

Still pissed off this morning. Mind you, I’m still bitter about Steve Bruce and Phil Dowd, so it may be a while.

Henceforth, just start each Man Utd game with a penalty to them instead of a kick-off.  Gets the inevitable over and done with, and at least it gives the opposition a full 90 minutes to try and get back on level terms,
