We'll do them at VP I reckon finally if we can get our full team and Barkley out as they'll likely be thick in europa league games.

Top peformance from us. With their quality in counter attack it's very tough to stop them cutting through with quick combinations and they did that a few times first half while we couldn't get anything going.

We sorted it second half and were doing it ourselves. Indeed in general play there wasn't much difference at all, we were knocking it around the pitch aswell as they were.

Interesting how the game would've developed if we'd kept it to 1-1 longer. Small margins or otherwise known as yet another VAR f*** up after two quiet games. Sigh.

Lots to enjoy again. We simply must get a good international quality striker in though as Ollie was second to plenty of 50/50s near the end so think he's really feeling the pace now so resting him for cup is a sensible move I think.

And I thought it was a penalty.

I think your the only one.

Definitely soft but if it was the other way round I'd be expecting a penalty

...& I’d be expecting everyone to call us diving cheats if we got it.

Yes they undoubtedly would call us that, but I'd still expect a penalty. Perhaps not a few seasons back, but definitely these days. Maybe that's the issue.

OGS saying we’re physical, with them getting a full house on the bookings tonight. Twat.

Yeah Matic and Shaw aren’t physical are they Ole you bell end.

Matic was scandalous when he came on, how many times did he foul Jack? That prick Oliver clearly has an agenda against Jack

Why the fuck didn't we have a penalty for handball at the end

33 fucking penalties those ****** have had since the start of last season. That PE teacher in charge has had 7 more penalties than any other side since he took over. How do you mark a referee and VAR when they're in the pocket of the club?

Pogba tells Shaw he should have dived. 5 minutes later, he kicks his own leg and wins a penalty.

How the fuck are they second? They are a Steve Bruce side. No identity, play like an away side even at home, horrible lumps kicking fuck out of their betters in cycles. Fred and McTominay all snidey, Matic should have walked. They hope for a moment of individual quality or more likely, a penalty. And the twats are 2nd.

We found our range 2nd half, superb delivery from Cash. Mings and Watkins should have scored, we played by far and away the better football. Desperately missing Barkley and Trez, as the squad is so small in terms of quality.

Very frustrating.

Am I over-reacting thinking that Bailly should have seen red for the two-footed jumping challenge aimed at McGinn ?

If you're the home team at the theatre of shite you can foul 5 or 6 times without getting booked, no problem.

We need another striker in this window. I thought Watkins was the weakest link by far tonight, he needs to work on his first touch because it's very poor. He also needs a break to recharge.

Davis fluffing an excellent opportunity at the end is just another example why he'll never be a natural finisher. He might find some success in a defensive midfield role somewhere, but being a goalscorer... not a chance.

Those penalties are allways given. Luiz got the wrong side.
The ref was soft on the persistent fouling but we made 2 errors that led to their goals.
We did not take our chances, we are not quite good enough.

Spot on

Nope i think you find that Pogba has his hand in Luiz's face and tripped himself.

We are perfectly good enough but you can beat 12 Men Man utd.

Mings needs to work on his finishing. He wastes way too many attacking headers.

Don't like hard luck stories especially against these fuckers. I'd rather we had won by 2 very lucky deflected shots.

It’s not a hard luck story though - that’s when you’re the better side and lose, which can happen and why footy is such a great game. No, this is being cheated, and it’s happened against these at least a dozen times in 25 years at a conservative estimate, and I for one am sick of it. It’s like a 36 game season.
Well it's up to us to change that 25 year narrative.

Not easy when you effectively start 1-0 down against a very good team - but continue playing like this and we’ll win most of the other 36 games anyway, thought we were superb tonight.

Played well overall and created enough half chances to get something but just not quite there yet. Bringing on Davis summed up our lack of squad depth. Thought we grew into the game and they were hanging on but ultimately you need to take your chances there and the didn't test De Gea enough when we had the chance to. Penalty was soft but once given wasn’t ever going to be overturned- that’s a very modern day penalty decision, especially when it’s for Man Utd.

On another day, against another club we could have got something. Not against these  fuckers.

Not downhearted at all - Proud in a word.

We have come miles in a very short space of time and looked every inch the measure of an improving Utd side tonight. In 6th, a game in hand, and a solidity in the club / spine of very good players in the squad that augers well for an exciting 2nd half of the season and further building in the summer. We have every right to expect that this is now where we belong - not languishing in the bottom half but competing for European places. With the right re-enforcements, even Champions League qualification in 22.

UTFV - this is a proper team, with proper management, and proper ownership - to go along with proper fans of the game.

I thought that the ball made contact with marquires hand in the last couple of minutes.  Maybe not intentional but his arms were definitely raised.

It’s impossible to tell if Luiz clips Pogba or Pogba trips himself but Oliver was very close so saw and heard enough to be convinced. Slow motion is inconclusive but not enough to get it reviewed.

He let them get away with cynical fouls in the second half for too long though.

Slow motion is decidedly fucking conclusive. Pogba kicks his own fucking leg. There is no argument. Its not subjective, that is what happens.

Meanwhile Maguire handballs away a cross.

One is a penalty. Guess which way it went.
