Yes they were strong down our right side but lets not lose sight of the fact that Chillwell is the best attacking left back in the country and cost £50m.
Thought we looked jaded at times but still created chances to win it.
Amazon and especially Beglin so biased - thankfully Townsend and Le-Saux were fairer in thier analysis.

We have Mings (who should warm the bench for a while) Barkley, Trez to come back.

Buy one or 2 in jan and we can hold our own in the top 6

Who would have thought that 5 months ago

It’s a really good point. Again, we’ve gone toe to toe with one of the ‘big’ teams and come away with something. I loved watching the battle in midfield between Kante, Mount, McGinn and Douglas Luiz and I think we just about edged it.

McGinn was superb and his energy was unbelievable. He also followed it up with a great post-match interview.

Jim Beglin, if memory serves me correctly he was the co-commentator in the CCC semi 2nd leg vs Tranmere. He was bitter then too, maybe he's still upset we knocked them out that day.

Kevin Keegan was the second commentator on tv and he was full of praise for us. He also did the final and the Inter Milan Phil King game. In the Inter game he was extremely biased hoping Villa would win being an English team. Begin I think did the radio coverage on 5 live?

Very true Mr E, I also thought that Konsa and Hause looked better balanced as a central pairing, on current form Mings may struggle to get back in the team.
Happy New Year to you and yours.

Konsa and Hause have been really strong as a defensive pair but our distribution from the back loses a lot when Mings is absent.

I dont get the Beglin bias, what did he actually say that's making everyone so sensitive? His most notable contribution was his revelation that he broke his leg from a hop-ball to which his co-commentator could only reply "Really?".

He also did that slightly lazy thing of his research and insight on Villa being confined to the last time he saw us in the flesh (Burnley) rather than mentioning our play and tactics in the games since then.

Chelsea fans think Beglin hates them based on his comments yesterday.  Fans dislike anything other than praise.

Agree.
The only beglin bias was his love for McGinn second half!
He was on about him all the time being a joy to watch
Rightly so

Why are the media making so much of the "controversy" around our goal.  Would there have been a peep if it was the other way round?  To me Grealish plays the ball but sees Christiansen and know knows a collision is inevitable and so avoids planting his left leg.  He makes no claim for a foul and gets up asap

His commentary was weighted towards the hosts, their trials and tribulations, formation etc etc. As a colour commentator he should be more balanced but that is always difficult if you know a lot about one side in favour of the other and if he does, as you suggest, he's failing at his job.
I quite like Carragher and Neville as pundits but when they cover their own teams this comes to the fore which is why I believe they shouldn't be scheduled for those games.
The only time this is acceptable is when you are on a regional commentary when it is your job to to slant towards one team or another.
It is a failure of the broadcaster to let this pass and indeed Sky removed Thompson from Liverpool games on Soccer Saturday for just this reason. He couldn't do the job asked of him. Beglin was similar last night.

Oh, and his reference to the foul possibly ruling out our goal showed his ignorance of the phasing of a game, and sounded desperate.

Danny Mills in having controversial opinions for money shocker. Why oh why anyone listens to Talkshite I have no idea.

Anyway cracking performance from the lads today, really enjoyed the tenacity and willingness to not be dictated to by a talented team. What we learnt is that we’re talented too though as Amazon Primes whole agenda seemed to be about Frank and his squad as usual we got no credit for what we did. That’ll change soon enough....
Townsend Le Saux very complimentary about us. Berlin was a bit of a Dick but I thought the coverage was fair.

Some of his comments took my breath away.

Clappy thing.
