Was always likely after the training ground got closed.

Frustrating but I can understand it.

I'll go along with that. I can see a few more games going the same way now.

I could have sworn I'd read they would forfeit the game 3.0 if they couldn't fulfill it and could raise at least 14 players who had played a minute of senior football.

Still, only a game..

At least it means there's no risk of a Friday night defeat ruining all of our weekends.

Not that there was much risk of that anyway.

As i suggested earlier ,they have changed the rules and now have called it off , After a great start to the season ,everything seems to be going wrong

Correct. Spurs got put through in the cup cause leyton orient couldnt play. Shaktar had to play Madrid with a ton missing.
Would other clubs be so supportive with us if we were requesting it?

Not entirely sure how I feel about this.

If a lesser team (orient) can’t fulfil a game they forfeit it, but a premier league team gets a postponement !

Was only the cup. Orient played a couple of postponed league games a few weeks later.

Due course is interesting but really I can't see where this game gets fitted in near future as Newcastle still in league cup and we play Burnley in mid week in two weeks time.

Little chance of it being re-arranged for next week given today's news. This isn't really the season to be having 2-3 games in hand given how packed the schedule is and how tight mid table is so we risk losing further ground.

If it was our squad hit by it, we would feel very hard done by if a 0-3 forfeit was granted or the game forced to go ahead.

I think last night would have taken a lot out of us physically, hopefully we can reschedule it on an FA Cup weekend after both teams are (not hopefully but inevitably) knocked-out.

Newcastle just postponing their inevitable defeat. Give us the points! We were going to win anyway.

Seems fair enough tbh. Sounds like Villa agreed to it judging by the message on their OS. Gives Barkley more time to recover.

We would, but those were the rules as we understood them when the league kicked off.

Another way of looking at it, Newcastle play and another of their players has it undetected and spreads it to some of ours. We then have to play Burnley and West brom in two weeks time with potentially 4-5 regulars missing which wouldn't be ideal.
