Yeah that is quite a stat, particularly when you think how many times, we've played  them in the League Cup since the 63 final.

We were drawn to play them in the 5th round draw in 1955 providing we won the replay against Doncaster Rovers, the cup tie went to 4 replays when we eventually ended up losing 3-1.

Ah, I know what I did wrong. I was only checking defeats. We beat QPR in 1920 on our way to our sixth cup win. Reading were the last non-league team to knock us out. In 1912, the year before our fifth, if anyone cares.

Unless I've missed another one somewhere.

We must have been distracted, worried about the Titanic's maiden voyage barely two months hence.

Shameful. A classic third round tie amongst two of the FA cup greats will be concluded even before the round kicks off properly.

Two ? They didn't reach a final until 1965.

In a display of some balance and symmetry we won it 7 times up to 57, they’ve won it 7 times since then. We need to break this hoodoo.....

Not as much playing them in the FA Cup.

Does anyone remember the FA cup game at VP in the 80’s when they by one goal when they took a free kick to score before the Villa had a chance to regroup? SOSAC

Heres a question. Which team won an FA Cup final and had two captains ?

There’s a bon mot about The captain and t’neil, in there.

Or did one go off injured, which wouldn’t be as exciting?
