I thought Trez had a great game too. He works so hard.
His work rate since lockdown 1 has been brilliant. Wonder if he’s had a kick up the arse.

El Ghazi take note

AEG ran about 50 yards back and dispossessed one of their players at the edge of our box near the end. Couldn't believe it

Trez was excellent in the run in last season.

A little wander over to the Small Time Alliance thread uncovered this gem about us this evening -

"On their day they're capable of beating anyone. They are frighteningly good and an absolute effing universe ahead of us"

Terrific result tonight and takes us nicely into the international break sitting 6th in the table.  Do wonder if we are going to be better away from home this season, when the onus is on the home side to attack and we can concentrate on being nice and solid and hitting teams on the break with the quality we have in the final third

Fixtures after the international break look pretty decent on paper up to Boxing Day.

Barkley > Drinkwater

Hard to believe Drinkwater was playing in this team this calendar year.

'Difference with Arsenal and the rest of the "big" sides is they regularly just don't turn up and often get totally outplayed by lower league teams. Total lottery what you're going to get.

Nigel'

So we're lower league now. Haha, fuck off Arsenal.

That's our best start to a season away from home - 3 wins - since the Wartime Football League (North) in 1943, but on that occasion we only had to beat Stoke, Wolves and Walsall! We went on to win a 4th at Coventry.

Apart from the obvious choices, I have to say Trez, Konsa and SJM were magnificent tonight.

Obviously paid £15 in the hope of seeing us lose.

We beat Woolwich Arsenal and Ian Darke and Andy Townsend.
They were condescending, dismissive, disrespectful and disparaging towards us, viewing the game from an Arsenal point of view. Until the second goal when they started gushing about us as if the game had suddenly turned and we hadn't been in it.
Piss poor.

Harsh on Townsend who speaks well of us.
Agreed. Townsend supports us I think. He knows every detail of our season - ok, it’s his job, but everything he said was spot on.

Agree with this. I have crucified him in the past, but he has been quite decent of late.

You obviously didn't have the misfortune of his *ahem* punditry tonight then.
The most condescending comment came from Ian Darke "no side has ever been relegated after winning their first four games" We were making Arsenal look like mugs and he talks about us like relegation fodder. Cheeky bastard.
