This looks like another of those days where we could play for 3 hours and still not look like scoring.  When we attack, they outnumber us.  When they attack, they outnumber us.  Shouldn't happen.
Yes that’s how football should be played and Southampton are doing it.

I don't know who the co-commentator is on my stream, but he sounds a lot like Tom Kerridge.

Watkins worries me. Other than the Liverpool one off, he hasn't got into games very much.

5'8 vs 6'5 (according to internet) isn't a match up you want to end up with

Problem seems to be we give Mings free licence to just follow the bar and attack it when defending set pieces. Of course the problem is when cross bypasses him and he's out of the situation then.

Call me old fashioned but I'd prefer Mings and Konsa on their two tallest players and work out the rest from there. Not like Ings and Adams are giants upfront so really it's just the two CBs to deal with and we failed badly to do it (and had a warning with the early corner).

Early sub means DS probably won't change much at half time either. Said it last week but I'd like to see Davis upfront and Watkins a little wider for the last half hour.

Long and high balls are not really going to work against Southampton.

surely this stuff is agree before the start, I can’t see how you end up with that match up

Their respective heights were irrelevant. McGinn lost him. If he'd been shorter than McGinn, he'd still have had a free header.

FFS.

Next time we play Southampton let's make sure we don't give away FKs near the box as they're pretty much goals for Southampton.

Re-run of last season's home game so far.
