Maybe we should get Hourihane on and play for free kicks (tongue in cheek). Ward-Prowse doesn't appear to do an awful lot else but he's first class with a dead ball.

The only difference between this shite and the Leeds game is at least they are not fucking up my weekend at the beginning of it.

Shambolic.

Knowing how clueless our manager is i would settle for 0 3 to escape further punishment

We have regressed to playing the way we did in the first half of last season. Too many schoolboy errors of our own making.

Ward-Prowse has turned into prime Le Tiss.
We never beat them then.

Well it's all going very well so far.  In the last 90 minutes of football at home, scored 0 conceded 6. And it could and should have been worse, the VAR decision was fortunate and Cash is lucky not to get a red for denying a goal scoring opportunity. I suppose both Leeds and Southampton have become something of bogey teams for us at VP (along with the entire "big 6" and Leicester) but fucking hell we could at least turn up.

It's the stupidity of it that gets me - Mcginn marking a giant at a corner, gifting two free kicks to probably the best free kick taker in the league, and Mings deciding not to jump on the second one so it goes straight over his head and in.

Genius.

I'd like to think the second half can only be better, but the way we are playing it will only get worse.
I’m glad I wasn’t imagining the Mings not jumping thing. All three goals came from jwp plus the disallowed one. It’s not rocket science. Given trez just shielded the ball out of play for their throw in maybe we just aren’t that savy  as a team

we've gone from being street-wise, attacking, high-tempo and aggressive to a crock-of-shit who can't do any of the basics right.

If Smith is getting credit for the first four games then he's also allowed to take some shit for the last couple too. Same for the players.

If we can't counterattack then we can't do anything. Why are Villa always the team behind the fucking times, it's been decades since we at the forefront of coaching and style and I'm absolutely fucking sick of it.

Tyrone Mings wants a good kick up the arse.

Meant to mention it yesterday but I always dread it when one of our players is featured on Football Focus. Never ends well.

People need to stop responding to that bellend. It won't make you feel any better.

You're right mate. What I'd give for a joint.

The biggest thing for me was we look half-arsed, it's like we're playing with no belief and no passion, which is WEIRD given the start we've had.  Forget the end scoreline now, I just want to see us compete second half, give these an actual game, like I'm sure this group of players can.

Been that way for the last decade really. There were glimmers of hope under Lambert. First season we got an unbeaten run going and went up to Liverpool and to quote him "were excellent" for once. Then we lost 8-0 to Chelsea and the sky fell in for next 3 months.

And the long winless runs under DS aswell. Happened last season after we won late v Watford and Leicester in the cup.

Would be nice for once after a bad defeat to reset and at least grind out a draw or two to keep the points total ticking over but season in season out we seem incapable of doing that to get a top half finish.

I want a consolation goal at least, otherwise that's 2 games without scoring.
