Just watched the game again. The result really didn’t flatter us at all, and it could and should have been 10. A quite outstanding performance that I’m sure we’re all really proud of.
Now wouldn’t it be great if we matched the season the last time we thrashed Liverpool at Villa Park back in 76/77??

In 76/77 out title challenge foundered due to too many fixtures in the spring and a relatively poor away record.  I'll stand corrected. but from memory I think we had the best home record in the division certainly in terms of goals scored.

Away scored 21 conceeded 33
I forgot that Spurs were relegated that season.

We were so exciting that season. If we'd had had a stronger squad to cope with an injury crisis and fixture pile up caused by two League Cup Final replays we could well have won the league.
