Has to be Trez over Traore but I’d like to see Barkley start, although I don’t think Hourihane deserves to be dropped, just a big difference in class and experience which has to be progress over sentiment.

I do wonder whether DS might throw a curveball and go for 4 midfielders with Barkley starting alongside McGinn and Hourihane with Doug behind and Grealish just off Watkins. Like this:

                                                       Doug

                                    SJM         Barkley      Hourihane

                                                       Jack

                                                   Watkins

Would sacrifice width but then would give licence for the FBs to get forward which is key in this type of game. Liverpool are very strong with whichever three they'll play in midfield.

Probably unlikely as Barkley hasn't played much for Chelsea so match fitness won't be great but he did throw in Drinkwater from the start v Man. City when his match fitness was just as bad as could be expected from a pro player.
That’s a good option, especially with Cash now in the team and one strength of Taggart is his link up and forward play. He actually creates a fair few chances.

I like the look of that too. I know RB hasn’t played that much recently, but I’m sure his fitness is light years ahead of Drinkwater.

The driving rain's stopped but it's going to be windy.

L'poo will be upset.

It might have been a good leveller for them.   ;D

For some odd reason I feel we could run them close again like we did last season (I still get PTSD from the last 5minutes of that game  :'().

2-2. There! I've said it! Jack and A N Other for us.

I can dream a dream (paraphrasing  Susan Boyle)...

Hopefully Barkley will start, but I think Smith may start with the same team that started against Fulham, going 1-2 Liverpool

Alisson is out.

That’s as big a deal as Mane. He’s a brilliant keeper. We may still lose but we have to have a go at this lot. They are shaky at the back anyway and this helps.

We have to play with the intensity that Leeds are showing. Only way to stop these top sides is to have a go at them. If we play our sideways and backwards style, we will lose out. If we can put them under some pressure, I think we have a realistic chance of a good result. Simple..when you’re typing!!

Adrian is crap too. Should be shooting on sight if Allisson is out. I think key will be the battle down our left (Targett/Grealish v (TAA/Jota). If we can keep TAA on the back foot and get Grealish in behind him then we could have a real advantage.

Alisson is out.

Adrian is pretty mediocre. Struggles with low shots. We should be scoring at least once today.

Going to be pretty exciting end to end game I think.
