Davis works his bollocks off for 70 mins - within 2 mins Watkins scores a tap in.

Davis done  really well tonight and tried really hard but this is the levels.
I'm all for good strikers who work hard and get involved in the play like Davis did tonight.... but I much prefer one who gets plenty of easy tap ins.

And I guess that's the difference.  Because although it was a tap in eventually, he picked up the ball wide on the halfway line, held it up, passed it forward, and bust a gut to be on the six yard line 10 seconds later.

Davis has been great tonight,  but I don't think anyone would expect him to have been anywhere near where Watkins was if he'd been involved in that passage of play.

Just seen Watkins goal.
Brilliant.
He started the move in his own half near the touch line and busted a gut to get on the end of a cross for a decent tap in in the box.

And almost celebrated!

For me, Davis has huge credit in the bank,  from when he first appeared in the team under Bruce and as a kid, led the line as a lone striker for weeks.
He might not be prolific, but as Lee says, we look a better team when Davis plays.

Debut against Norwich was superb

I preferred his debut against Rotherham

And he won’t be able to do it at Stoke as we’ll be at home.

Jacob Ramsay - a player I'd never really seen before - has really looked like a talented kid thus far this season.

I love that Ollie is a tap in merchant. He can do a lot more of course but his runs and timing are all so instinctive. We so needed that

Watkins looks sharp - could have had a hat-trick... couple of good saves.
