Can I ask, how is that not a red?

New double jeopardy law unless it’s a rugby tackle can’t be punished twice.

Committing enough men forwards, but they're condensing the space between midfield and defence and sitting 5/10 yards deeper.

Think we need to quicken the play and movement around the box. Its going to be hard to get in behind them. Plenty of balls going in and half chances and moments, but nothing to clear cut.

Fantastic save from Emi.

I know we have been pretty shit, but why Hourihane earns the scapegoat role is beyond me.

I think cutting out the Hollywood balls would be a big help in getting close to the Sheffield goal.

I would take Conor off, bring Jack back into midfield to create and stick AEG in the wing

Be interested to see if Shakespeare has any solutions for the ten man conundrum we face as the other lot didn't seem to have too many answers last year.

You'd like to think with a player like Jack it's a scenario we'll be facing more than once this season and have practised accordingly.

That's a good point. We surely must plan for it, given how often Jack draws fouls, and how frequently we failed to capitalise on it last season. Does our pattern of play change at all when 11 vs 10?

We look so one dimensional.

Nothing new there. We do like to give them all the time in the world to get 10 men back behind the ball.

He's hardly getting scapegoated, he's not getting any more slagged off than anyone else.

In games like these, Luiz should be encouraged to have more shots from outside the box.

Right? It's so obvious.

These are the games where Smith needs to show he's learnt from his mistakes last season.

Trez needs to hug the touch line. Make the pitch wide. He always coming inside, drives me mental. We need to be patient.

Targett is abysmal. He'll be replaced, if he continues like that this season.

First half analysis: Emi looks good, Cash looks like good purchase - lot of space on right and some good crosses, McGinn - absent, Grealish - too selfish, needs to release ball more often to teammates in better positions, Trez - best winger option we have currently, Watkins - started brightly but needs better service, Targett - GARBAGE! As someone suggested earlier, stick Freddie in there

Well, thus far we don’t seem to have learned at all from last season about playing against 10.
