Top read, Dave. I said as well several times during the season that the opening match vs Spurs really set the template for our season, as we were throwing away good starts in match after match.
Weirdly, when I read Chester, Elphick, Adomah and Kodjia I got a pang of fond nostalgia. I guess I didn't mind the time in the Championship as much as I thought.

Yes to Benteke AS LONG AS two others are brought in. I love the bloke and would love to see it work, but my head says he's a busted flush. I want to be proved wrong.

I'd be tempted with Benteke if the crowds were back. Otherwise it's a no from me.
I still don't agree with the season resuming, even though we did well out of it. However, I'm looking forward to next season. I think we've seen enough good things to feel optimistic.

No to Benteke. He is a shadow of his former self.

Definitely yes to Abraham. Would like to see Tuanzebe back, as well.

I agree and I think we should be looking to build without loanees if possible.
Loans are almost essential rather than short-sighted in order to get out of the Championship. We used it to good effect and Leeds, Albion and Fulham have all done likewise. However, we may need to be more progressive now.

I'd take that one that Liverpool loaned to Swansea on loan. Forgotten his name, but he's good. Not as the main man but an option off the bench would be a much better option than we have presently.

The last sentence is key. We have some momentum and optimism heading into next season thanks to the way we ended last season. The right buys, particularly someone who can kick people, and we might just not struggle again. I think the owners will expect more of Dean next season and will back him to succeed. Some shrewd purchases will be needed as well as the odd gamble. Great summary Dave.
