Need to start with some home wins, very tough middle and end.

In other news 9 home games from 2nd February so clearly that's when premier league are gambling society will be close to back to normal.

Yanited, Spurs and Chelsea in the final five... absolutely brutal

Spurs are not the team they were though apparently.

Ha!

They aren't, which anyone can see. And yet we still failed to pick up a single point from them last year, eh?

But we did against Arsenal and Man Utd, so it wasn't all bad, eh?

Never said it was 'all' bad, you made a point of referencing my opinion of Spurs so I answered it.

Anyway, as I was saying, the run-in is difficult for us. Hopefully we'll have the legs to be able to handle Liverpool, City, United, Spurs and Chelsea all within 6 week period.

Not necessarily.  Depending on how the season pans out for ourselves and those clubs, that run-in might see us reclaim our berth in the top six.

Can't get into too much of a frenzy with fixtures- everyone plays each other twice and as demonstrated this season we lost twice to Bournemouth who weren't very good.

I hope we’re safe by 24 April! 😮

I hope we are pretty safe by Christmas. I get distinctly harder thereafter.

My Birthday haha.

Traditionally we've always done pretty well with matches around that date, can remember a couple of wins against SHA around that time and we beat Palace on the 26th April last season.

Certainly would be good to already be on 40 points and safe by the time we play the last 5 games though.

You never know what teams will be doing at that time, in europe or on the beach. Arsenal as last home game looked a nightmare last August but that turned out o.k for us.

I wonder how big an impact fixture timing actually has on points.

I guess this season might be different, in that later home games could have a significantly higher probability of a win.

The Manchester clubs and Wolves (Chelsea too?) get a 30 day break from their last game so whoever draws them on the first day may have to wait to play them.

I feel proud. I was half asleep last night when I typed this.

Interesting that they keep the 'big' teams apart.  Probably to help them all get off to a winning start to give them momentum for super Sunday.

We need to have the title wrapped up before those last few games so that the academy lads can get some experience of playing against the bigger sides.

The extra week's pre-season might be handy for us. The transfer merry-go-round still hasn't kicked in, so having the Man City game postponed could work in our favour with more training and integration.
