Whilst we’re on the subject of Everton, I watched that Howard’s Way documentary recently and really enjoyed it. It’s all about the mid 80s era. That was some team they had then and there’s plenty of Villa links too; Gray, Mountfield, Heath, Richardson. Great soundtrack too!

That Everton team would have won lots more in Europe had it not been for the ban, that was a great side.

I used to spend a fair bit of time in Liverpool and never met an Everton fan who gave two shits about us.

Maybe that's because their anti scouseometer sensed some trace of animosity towards all things Scouse.....there I go again defending Liverpool ...how dare I

Every bastard taxi driver I bumped into when I was up there for the 2-2 draw in 2008 was going on about the European City of Culture award.

Just for the records I have worked/  lived on Merseyside for 31 years and in all that time I've only met a handful of fans who have bad mouthed the Villa - the majority respect our history and heritage

I think the most pissed I have ever been at a game was Everton, we were drinking with my missus’ landlord who ran Everton former players association, after town we were in a little pub behind the main stand and I recall a long chat with a lovely bloke who had played for Villa, Everton and Liverpool, who’s name escapes me. Also introduced to a fella who had ran on the pitch in the Cup Final and who’s jacket had been pulled off by a persuing copper.

Can’t remember anything about the game at all

Out walking the dog this morning and this afternoon and got talking with other footy fans- 2 Evertonian and 3 Reds
Without exception they all genuinely said they want Villa to stay up.Come on Villa - don't let us down

A good friend who’s a ST holder at Anfield keeps saying how much he wants us to stay up and that his group of mates all feel the same without question.
