We’ve been in some really decent positions, but that quality in the final third is just non existent.

I’m dreading them getting the first goal now, I think it would be game over.

Have to say, once again, Luiz is head and shoulders above the rest.

don’t know what game some of you are watching

we’ve done ok looked good at times and played some decent football

Samata and Trez are the massive weak links so far everyone else is doing good

This, with bloody great bells on. AEG & Davis need to come on.

I really wish another player had got those two goals against Palace. Trezeguet is so lightweight, and not a little terrible.

Decent, but a point in this is no use at all. Win at all costs Villa.

He will make no subs at half time we know this because its one of Smiths big weaknesses

Bit loose in the first 15, still too easy to get balls into our box, but we've wrestled a bit of control and look the better side.

Touch more quality needed from Trez and Samatta, but Grealish and Dougie combining well. Hourihane doing OK and McGinn slowly getting a bit more involved.

Have to be mindful of the counter attack and the quick diagonal they're looking for.

First goal will be huge, let's make sure its us who gets it.

I'd leave Samatta and Trez on. I'd get the ball out wide to Elmo and Targett and keep hitting early balls into the box - throw Davis on for McGinn and that's more in the box.

I’m guessing his subs will be Davis for Samatta and El Ghazi for Trez on 70 mins.

One of their biggest critics, but I don’t think we’ve been that bad. Ally’s showing for the ball a lot more, just feel he needs a goal. McGinn drifting in and out (but a little better than recent times), Luiz immense as per usual, Mings/Konsa okay but a bit exposed from the wings.
Everton are there for the taking. Need something inspirational from one of them (and/or Dean!) or we deserve to go down.

Or after they’ve scored.

Reactive not proactive.

That's the way I see it too. Luiz has been excellent , Elmo and Jack very good, most have been solid with the exception of the two you have mentioned. Trez is particular. Hourihanes set pieces a disappointment but he has been fine from general play. Evertons midfield is dreadful, if Jack keeps getting past them he will draw a penalty.

Davis and AEG the obvious likely subs to come in. Three points very much for the taking here.

So far so good, knife edge, just feel Jack has got something vital, he's really going to make happen, next 45 Jack, save Villa.

I'd rather keep Samatta on for now and try him alongside Davis if we are level or behind with half an hour to go.

Got to be Samatta’s worst performance.  Not only does he not look like a striker he doesn’t even resemble a footballer. Needs to be subbed at HT but we all know he won’t be. Another reason why we’re in this position.

I would hook Samatta for El Ghazi and play him up top.
