Reins

Taylor...

I'd be on Claude nine if we win with that line-up.
Play it again Samatta.

It’s shit or bust.

I’d drop Trez and play Jack up front with Davis.

I’d also rotate McGinn with Conor.  A half each.

Plucky underdogs hold out for 70 minutes, concede, chase the game, concede another, then collapse completely. 4-0

Reina

Guilbert Konsa Mings Taylor

Elmo McGinn Luiz Conor

Jack

Samatta

Start pinging a few balls at Ally's noggin and have Jack playing off him.

I said on another thread (not sure which one), but I think, despite understanding why he might not be a starter, not bringing Hourihane on when we need a goal is mental.

But we know that Smith will not be venturous, it will be the same tried, tested and failed formation he puts out week after week.

yep. i'd stick him up front to start off with. Its not question whether he's that good, it's whether he's more likely to score than Davis and Samatta given a chance, and he is IMO

1-3, Villa audaciously score first, we go in 1-1 at h/t, then its all over before the second drinks break.

What ever happens.  He needs to shake up the front line.  So playing Jack and Conor/Davis/Samatta.  Elmo right midfield is a decent shout.
All very unorthodox but we need to try something.

my grandad used to say he could feel a goal coming in his bones (pronounced booooons as he was from Cradely). I just wonder.
