Imagine Grealish and Chukwuemeka linking up next year, could be really special.
both have been linked to Man United.

FFS! Down with that sort of thing.

Why in a game with a side kitted out in black and white would the ref and assistants be in all black?

Most bizarre stat. 6 goals, 0 for Barry.

Watched the second half and it was like watching Man City against our first team last game; only this time it was us passing around for fun & devastating in capitalising on the dominance, as witnessed by the scoreline.
The future (may be) bright!

It was ever thus until ©1990's or thereabouts.  Referee's only had one choice...black.  When I started the shirts were 100% nylon, you'd sweat like a pig.  I think I've still got all mine from over the years.

Very impressed with Kesler-Hayden again. Several of them look to have the potential ....

Linked? By who the Meaning Evil? We shouldn't be taking any notice of crap media outlets who are awash with plastic supporters of the Greedy Six. It's all about the villa these days.

I did see in The Athletic that (reading between the lines) we promised Carney first team football and not delivering on that might prove a problem. I sort of can't understand it, given our now meaningless season, Jack's injury, Trez's injury and the general poor form of our attacking midfield, but there we are.

In the game last night Chuk was pretty clearly playing the role we want Barkley performing (picking up the ball and driving through midfield, moving it out wide and getting into the box). Given how poorly Barkley has done that job in the last few months and that he'll be fucking off back to Chelsea in a month or so I think it would be really poor if we don't see Chuk get at least a couple of appearances now, he's clearly far too good for the level he was playing yesterday. I'd say the same with Kesler and Elmo as well.

I posed this question the other day. Would we have given Jude Bellingham the time to play if he was in our academy or if we bought him in the manner Dortmund have? I don’t know that we would have. Sometimes you just need to trust what you see. It might not pan out but we already know, Barkley isn’t. McGinn and Douglas have both struggled a bit. Elmo isn’t the long term answer at RB. Give KKH and Chuckie a try. There’s really nothing to lose now

In related news CDBWF has been 'romantically' linked to both Maya Jama and Alex Scott.

Me too. Deano has mentioned that it is a step up for the kids to make, but to me it looks like Chukwumenka is currently making a step down.

Dortmund aren't the club you need to consider in this, they gave an expensive signing game time, that's no different to most clubs. It's Blues that played him as a 16 year old which is the more realistic comparison and that changes the conversation. For them he was, on debut, one of the best players in their squad and had to play because of what he was doing right then. For us bringing someone like Chuk or kessler through is as much about what we think they will be in 12-18months as it is a reward for what they're doing right now which makes the decision a lot harder for most of the season.

However with 6 games to go in a season where we're comfortably planted in midtable it should be very easy to decide to give them game time ahead of players who won't be at the club in 2months time.
