I think it’s looking like GTG again in September for a while.
Maybe see what the plans are for reintroducing crowds as the season progresses.
Perhaps we could play GTC again after Christmas!

I’m thinking of introducing a new rule for Guess The Goal.


It could add a bit of tension if you had to choose a minute that hadn’t been taken yet.

Pros.
There’d be no piling up of players on individual minutes.
I think the record was 5 on one number, with quite a few 3s and doubles, so it would definitely affect the spread of guesses.

Cons
It would mean that you’d have to read through everything that had been guessed already, though.
You’d have to get in quick if you had a lucky number, as well!

Just idly considering it at the moment, any comments welcome before we start again next month! 👍 or 👎?

I think you would end up with lots of people guessing the same number, unless you did it via some sort of shared document rather than asking people to put their guess in here, but that may be overcomplicating things...

Maybe make it guess the first goal and guess the total number of goals as a tie-breaker, something like that?

I haven’t had a tie break in GTG yet, but you are probably way ahead of me.

I think I’ll keep it as it is for now, unless I have a brainwave before the first round! I’m thinking of, the nearest unclaimed minute....

The first match for the first team looks like being a Carabao Cup on or around the 12th or 15th September.  Time, place, oppo all to be confirmed as we go to press.


Guess The Crowd is some way off yet. 

BUT

Guess The Goal should be up and running again as soon as there’s a Villa match to Guess about!

GTG will be off and running for the new season tomorrow night!
First match, the Carabao Cup v Burton on Tuesday the 15th.
