Hello, fellow H&Vers and players of Guess The Crowd!

I’m missing Guess The Crowd.


This OP is now an intro to a competition to Guess the Goal - the minute a goal has been scored, at all of the games during this mini season.

It’s either our goal or an unfriendly one but it’s still a goal. Teams say which minute of the match a goal will be scored, in advance of the match, like ooh, guessing the crowd in advance.



Scoring: spot on: 11 points.

Up to 1 minute away 10 points.

Up to 2 minutes 9 points.

Up to 3 minutes 8 points.

Up to 4 minutes 7 points

Up to 5 minutes 6 points

Up to 6 minutes 5 points

Up to 7 minutes 4 points

Up to 8 minutes 3 points

Up to 9 minutes 2 points

Entering the round 1 point 😁



Teams (players) entering a round just post a guess for a minute between 0 to 90.

E.g. 05. 13. 29. 34. 48.  57. 61. 72. 86.  90.



If you want to Guess for an extra time goal, it’s 45+ and 90+.



Scores depend on the minute a goal is published as being scored on the BBC. Like the crowd, in happier times. 

If more than one goal is scored close to your minute, you get the points!


Rounds are launched up to a week before. Some overlaps, inevitably. To avoid these, I will use some very short run-ins, so be prepared! 

Results at the end of this mini season.


We could continue next season if it works, before regular crowds are allowed back.

Really Important Bit

Only one guess per round, per team!
Otherwise, arithmetical carnage will ensue.
No editing, as before.



Round 3  Newcastle v Villa is up and running in a separate thread, as usual.





Scoring will be in minutes, as there’s no way of determining seconds on the BBC Sport reports.

Lou, in the same way that we only get 1 crowd guess per game and to help you when you're checking them, I think it should be 1 guess each on either 1st or Last goal or 0 for no goals.

I know, not a lot of skill involved. Unless you have really studied the players and the clubs.


And I miss Guess The Crowd. This could be the nearest thing! Who knows how long this thing will last?

Speaking of which, in The Times today, there was a suggestion that crowds could be reintroduced on a 10% of capacity basis, to start, building up gradually as I think they are doing in the Bundesliga. Or thinking about it, anyway.
