I was in Milan in 1990 and I am still pissed off about the goal in the San Siro that should have been disallowed.

Is it too late to appeal?

Peter Withe  what a player

Didn't Brian Clough once say that the one player he regretted selling was Peter Withe?

Just watched the 70-71 LC semi-final on Villa Boy's channel. A friend of mine who's an old school Man U fan and followed them home and away in the late 60s and 70s reckons the semi-final at Villa Park was the best away atmosphere he's experienced. Must have been rocking given the fallow years of the 60s.

Cloughie's 'worst of' bits could vary.

He started off by saying the worst thing he ever did was to resign from his job at Derby.

He also said that the worst ever thing he did was to let Peter Withe leave Forest in 1978. He then said that the second worst thing he did was to not bring Withe back!

He also said the worst thing he ever did was sell Archie Gemmill to Small Heath. He sold Garry Birtles and bought him back two years later. He sold Ian Bowyer to Sunderland, realised he had made a mistake and bought him back fifteen games later. He bought and sold Trevor Christie and Gary Megson within a matter of weeks in 1984 (Christie played a handful of games and Megson didn't get a game as Clough reckoned he couldn't trap a bag of cement in training) and bought and sold John Sheridan within a matter of weeks without ever playing him in 1989. 'Provided You Don't Kiss Me' by Duncan Hamilton is an excellent football book written by the journalist who covered Forest for the local paper all the way through the Clough years.

I don't think Archie ever forgave Clough for not picking him for the 1979 European Cup Final.

Gemmill and O'Neill both declared themselves fit for the game -Clough simply didn't believe them!!

I've always thought there was a lot of Because I Can about Clough at Forest. He loved being in the news.

I believe Forest was supposedly run by a committee and Clough was very politically clever and manipulative in making sure the head of the committee was someone he could manipulate. Side with Clough and you would stay in charge of the committee, cross him and he would manoeuvre you out of power. He succeeded up until his drinking got out of hand at the end of his reign and he gave his critics on the board too much ammunition to use against him.

Clough got rid of some board members he and Taylor didn't like in the early years at Derby.

Years later, it came back to bite 'em.

&t=352s

Still possibly the most nerve shredding experience i've ever had watching football. The full 90 mins of Aston Villa vs Tranmere 1994 Second Leg League Cup Semi Final.

The ever reliable Villa Boy has posted two new clips on YouTube ( well new to me anyway) - Villa v Preston from 1973 and and an interview with He Who Walks On Water following the collapse of his transfer to the filth.

Me too.Was that when the ball went over the goal line prior to the cross for their goal?
