That's probably the side I would go with but I reckon he might start Drinkwater and bring Luiz on for his energy like he did against Watford.

That’s my feeling too, essentially Ads team with drinkwater instead of Luiz for 60 mins. Saying that I thought Luiz was superb for around 70 mins on Tuesday, probs his best game for us.

Even taking into account them beating Brighton last time out, I’ll be disappointed if we don’t get a result here. Think they’ll score though, think it was linekar pointed out Callum Wilson’s a streaky striker, now he has one he may get one today. I fancy us to get two or three though, 🤞

Come on the Villa boys, 3 points today please! Tuesday night was brilliant coming after the Watford result, but we need to be totally focussed today. 3 points and we'll pull further away from the drop zone and bring some of the clubs on 30 points to within a game's reach of us. A draw wouldn't be a bad result but it keeps us too close to the bottom 3 for comfort. We cannot lose not least because we need to avenge our Villa Park defeat to them but also they would then be the only team from 12th position down to have taken maximum points from us. We could also drop into the bottom 3. Everybody needs to be up for this game, management and players alike, so come on boys! UTV!

Hopefully Samatta can get off the mark this afternoon. I suspect he might turn out to be quite good. Despite clearly being well short of match fitness and sharpness, his movement was decent and he got into some good positions. Held it up and laid it off to teammates effectively enough too.

Score first and we win. They are frail. Needs a fast start.

A fast Villa start? Well it's horribly overdue! ;)

I'd actually snap umpteen hands off for a point this arvo. Clearly a win would be fantastic, but I'm fully expecting B-muff to be fired-up from the off & fight like their future(s) depend on it (which it/they obviously does/do). Hopefully we'll be bang up for this & keep it going after Tuesday's magnificent scenes.

Come on me babbies!

Reina

Hause
Mings
Konsa

Targett
Nakamba
Luiz
Guilbert

Grealish
El Ghazi

Samagoal

Wouldn't surprise me to see the midfield two keep their place. It's a question of whether they can bring the same level of energy and aggression. Nakamba in particular I feel has really shaken off his poor form.

Bournemouth are weakest when they're out of possession higher up the pitch. Their midfield 4 are easily bypassed and you're exposing their back four, with acres of room.

Tuesday has got to bring confidence.

That's what I'd go with too.  If we must continue with Drinkwater, he'd be better coming on later when the opposition are more tired, and he can get 30 minutes to continue his fitness improvement.

Can see this being an entertaining draw 2-2.

I think Bournemouth are going to slip down. Fans will also be disappointed with their window. Given their recent form it seems a little bit like a white flag. No one down the bottom end has had a great window. A few of our rivals have potential matchwinners like Bowen I suppose. We'll see. Howe's done brilliantly there but I think he's getting to a stage where he's running thin on ideas and teams of sort of got used to Bournemouth now. They've punched way above weight and it may catch up with them. I think this is the kind of game that defines our season. You have to kick these sides when they're on the slope. We need to be ruthless. Brighton, Watford, Bournemouth have probably all over achieved since coming up, so it's about getting points off them because on balance we have better players and I think Grealish is a major ace in the deck.

I am feeling more nervous with each passing game now. I think the only game in the next couple of months that I will be able to relax will be the Wembley game. Just please win today villa.
