Baring a miracle I can’t see anything other than another Wembley defeat, but the scoreline will depend on which Villa turns up...or doesn’t. Even if we play like we did against Spurs, we will still receive a battering as we are too open and Man City are clinical finishers (most of the time)...play like we did against Southampton and it could be one of the most embarrassing days in Villa history. DS need to tighten up and learn how to scrape wins or draws...there is no honour in dying on your sword in football, just embarrassment and humiliation. This needs to be done for the league run in and needs to start next weekend otherwise it’s going to be a painful day for all involved with and support Villa.

Nyland Reina
Guilbert Mings Engels Konsa Hause Taylor Targett
Grealish
Samatta

Do we really want to be that gung ho? We'll get slaughtered.
A bit disappointed that Elmo has not been found a place.

He's on the bench.

What about using Grealish as a possible impact sub if we need to and starting with Elmo in his place in Legion's team?

Confidence of our squad looks shot - it will take one hell of an effort from the manager/coaches and players to bring the cup home .....just can't see it
Ron Atkinson pulled off a masterstroke against Newton Heath back in the day - I don't think Smith is as astute as Big Ron plus our squad at that time was far superior to the present one
Citeh to take the foot off the gas at 3-0 to save a complete humiliation

Aye only marginally as we were pants in the league. Manure were 10 of 11 full internationals.

I think DS is inept and stumbles across temporary solutions. Big Ron was so canny he knew if we went toe to toe we’d be hammered humiliatingly. So he pulls a left field formation, gees them up for the game of their lives and promises if the play as instructed they’ll win.

Completely caught fergie off guard and whilst they tried to adapt we went 2-0 up. They just went for broke and we countered to get the 3rd and the cup with it. A huge set of balls  shown which is what we need now.

Nyland
Elmo Mings Engels Tagett
Trez Hourihane Nakamba Drinkwater
                   Grealish
                   Samatta

This is based on how fucked off I am since Sunday, Drinkwater only paying 1st half and a change in formation ala 1994.

Yep.

So people demanding Luiz and Nakamba are dropped, the alternatives are Lansbury and Hourihane...not that Drinkwater would've been a great option anyway.

Basically we're f***ed.

DS said in his post Match on Saturday that there's a few players that have played their way out of the Team for Sunday's Cup Final

What will we see ,who will get dropped?

Nyland in for Reina I'd imagine ? Drinky can't play and Lansbury is shocking so not many options for midfield ....

I think I would put Freddy in right side of mifield, he at least puts in strong challenges
                      Pepe
Elmo engels mings hause targett
         Freddy Douglas Connor
                        Jack
                    Samatta
Think engels plays better when mings with him needs constant talking too, same as hause.

Very much hope that I’m wrong, but this appears to have train wreck written all over it after this weekend. Even when we upset Utd all those years ago, I always thought we had a chance, as we had a decent side back then. The current lot are terrible, if they manage to keep Grealish quiet, then we’re fkd.

Me “brilliant, yes I’ll definitely take it”

Me Saturday afternoon after listening to that performance “oh bugger”

I am looking forward to a good day out, but I think that from 4.30 pm it may start to go downhill quite quickly

I just hope that we show more desire and effort than we did against Arsenal in the FA Cup final, otherwise it could be a far worse defeat.

However hoping, that City just think that they only have to show up to beat us, and unexpected results in finals do happen!

Come on Villa - don't let us down, this is costing me and every other Villa fan who is going a lot of money!

And IF we do lose, I don't want to read of any our players going on the lash in London after the final with any of the City players.
