It's a quirk of the layout of the stadium, that's all.

If there was 45k tickets for our fans we would sell it out easily for this game

It was stated on their website on the 31st of January, they've got the east end of the ground with an allocation of 34,854. We have the west end, which has around about a thousand fewer seats.

Villa sold out their allocation of 33,666.

City's final allocation was 34,854 seats so if City ticket site accurately reflects what's left in that allocation, we' may just very slightly outnumber the Villa. City's initial allocation was Maybe.

City's initial allocation was 33,889 so at some point we must have got an extra 1,000 seats.......

Man city website for 2019 = 33,889 (west)

2020 =34,854 (east)

Edit: and I think we did get a few extra tickets from somewhere, our initial initial allocation was 33,095

Well done to those that did. Not sure if there are still drabs trickling through but I refreshed like an irrational loon for the play off final and got them, then got more for others in the following days. It’s not sensible but determination does sometimes pay off. Also there are spares on the day, a sign (and a think skin towards oppo taking the mick) *inside* the tube station as people are getting out has worked for me before too.

Had a lovely moment after a couple of Nile Specials tonight with my Ugandan wife and very dear brother in law meeting little AV for the first time. Back in our hotel room I concluded a nearly 8 month old is the perfect age for just lots of joyful mucking about. The Mrs spontaneously broke into the Samagoal chant we’ve sung to the baby a fair bit. I knew abandoning a Man U shirt in Africa as a condition of marriage was perfectly reasonable. I’m confident conversion is complete.

Right. Now to find somewhere to watch the match :/
