For once an easy, close away game. Meeting other Bournemouth Lions at Fareham for train to Brighton. Just hope the players can show the fight, desire and passion needed in such a game.

We can win, I'd be happy with a point and hope we avoid defeat in any event.

We proved at Burnley the new formation works.
We proved at Leicester it works without a striker.

It’s all about focus and determination from the players now.

If we can approach the game as we did vs leicester without a striker, cut out the silly mistakes and hope for a bucket load of luck, then who knows what may happen.
I'd certainly be happy with at least a point, whilst hoping that we can start Tuesday night with a recognised striker and focal point.
Smith said the man city game won't define our season (it will if it comes down to goal difference), but this game and the next 2 will. Get it right and we've got a chance. Get it wrong and I feel Smith and the decision makers above him will know about it.
Come on the Villa!

It’s simple. Just roll El Ghazi in glue and hit him with the ball. The hard bit is finding a midfielder who’ll pass it well enough.

In the absence of an obvious striker option, perhaps Vassilev or Archer should be given a go. Not just 15 minutes at the end, either.
Other clubs have done similar and it sometimes worked out.

Brighton have never won a Premier League game in January. There I’ve jinxed it now.

They've not beaten us in 40 years.

Double jinxed, so its cancelled out.

39 years and 1 month, to be exact.

I agree. One of them should have been played at Fulham - we knew Kodjia was on his way so that really was a no lose opportunity to give them a real go.

I'm not sure you can say one win "proves" that a formation works, when we lost the next league game six-one with the same set up.

I remember us winning at Liverpool and everyone saying our new formation was going to see us shoot up the table. We lost the next three eight-nil, four-nil and three-nil.

I'm not saying it won't work, but there is certainly no conclusive proof that it has worked yet.

Agree with this. Better than El Ghazi in that position. Give them a go

Well it was better than the 6 games before

Disagree. Throwing someone in when they're not ready is just going to fuck with their confidence. In any case, El Ghazi was about the only player to emerge from last week with any credit.

I dreamt we won 3-0. I’d be bloody ecstatic if that came true. Hopefully there will be a huge reaction to that Citeh disgrace.

I think it needs to be either El Ghazi or Tresequet and Vassilev. We need some kind of outlet up the other end of the pitch.
