Nakamba made mistakes but I thought he at least showed the required amount of urgency and intensity.

An honest assessment of the game and current position.  I often think of these articles as the barometer for where we are and what is likely to happen next.  I agree about Luiz, his ball watching and lack of desire seems to spread through the side.  Nowhere near enough effort shown.

DS should to speak to Sir Brian Little about a 3 centre back system; after all, Sir Brian didn't do too badly with it. DS does seem too stubborn with his formation. He needs to look at it fast, otherwise the consequences are too dire to think about....

The last paragraph was a corker. Amazing that we'd be delighted to settle for something similar.

Agree on the last paragraph, yesterday was eerily similar to Wigan at home a few years ago.

He forgot to mention that we also changed the manager.

You're right about needing to change the system Dave. We're too obvious to play against and the midfield, full backs are way too exposed. There's a reason why we concede more shots than any other team. The worry is Brentford did the same under DS.

The question isn't what we all see and the appeal to do something different. It's whether or not Dean Smith is astute enough (I cannot believe I am even having to say that) to see it and actually do something very different. My fear like all of us is we will see some combination of the same with Wesley up front despite there being all the data in the world that it just isn't working right now.

This might force Smith to reconsider our shape, formation and tactics - he's been trying the same approach for some weeks now and it isn't working.

We urgently need to stop giving away silly goals, and maintain concentration either side of half time.

3-5-2 or 4-4-2

We also need to get somebody who is capable involved in coaching the defence.

When Smith got the job I thought that we were getting a manager that was innovative and changes his set up as to who the opponents are very disappointed that finally he played two up top only when the game was lost.
If he starts the next game with the same set up he has used all season (which I think he will) then he should be removed even if we scrape a win.

That's because we didn't in 12/13.

This......I'm with you Robbo
He is not as innovative as we thought he was - disappointing

Excellent summation DW.  In passing I find it extremely difficult to equate Dean Smith's performances against us with Brentford - aggressive, energetic, committed, quick, effective - with the slow, ponderous, predictable, turgidity his players produce for us now.  Could he be a good low budget manager better at bringing the best out of journeymen players punching above their weight than wet nursing self regarding "better" players?
