Blimey if you read their after match debate on RAWK they can't stand us and are desperately hoping to thrash us in the league game at Anfield as well as send us down.

Line of the night on there basically saying we ruined the night for them when we scored the fifth, because we didn’t need to. This lot set new highs in being conceited, the poor things.

Thought before he came on that a duel spearhead of Kodja and Wes could work but wasn't to be.. Thought Kodja ran the lines well but still over does things, even against the kids Taylor was awful thought the ball control of the under23s was excellent and superior to our reserves.

To be fair, judging by some of the names of those under 23's Liverpool have cast their net worldwide for young talent.

We did a great service to Carabao Cup in particular and football in general tonight. Liverpool disrespected this competition and were rightly trounced. Forget this rubbish about kids, they fielded a team, we sorted it so fuck em I say.
What the fuck were they supposed to do?

They could have given it a better mix. Didn’t need to have their 23 senior players in Qatar today. 6 or 7 could have played and flown out post match.

When he kept moaning about the semis being two legs, I got the feeling that he wanted to prove a point.

I think they could have supplemented the youngsters with more experienced pros. I'm sure many would rather have played in a Quarter-Final at one of the great homes of British football than sit on a bench in the desert.

However, the blame for the lineup they put out lies not with Klopp or Liverpool, but with the Premier League. There has never been a problem previously when English clubs have taken part in the World Club Cup (with the exception of Man U in 2000 when the competition had a lengthier format). It's because they insisted on pissing about with League Cup dates to accommodate a February break that no fans have ever requested.

And none of those players would be available until their final game out there. I don't blame Liverpool at all for what they did, the fault is with no one at the FL thinking that the one of the best sides in the country may win a couple of games in the competition.

I think Klopp knows what he needs.  Given the situation they were put in by the league they had to prioritise and they did.  I have no problem with that at all.

Apart from it getting very cold towards the end of the game, I actually quite enjoyed that given strength of the respective line ups.  Good to see James a Chester back playing and although Nyland had a couple of dodgy moments with the ball at his feet, he made some good saves.

A bigger version of Newcastle. Absolute crybabies, still angry about us taking the piss out of Gerrard's birthday.

The post match comments from their coach were extremely positive about our players and coaching staff.

Players helping theirs through the game (including Taylor and the lad with horrendous cramp) and Smith and Terry going to the dressing room afterwards to say some positive words.

From what I could tell watching in TV the songs between sets of supporters was good and as you'd expect.

Beforehand this seemed like a no win type situation but we have won both on and off the pitch. Professional, respectful and the record books will always show we beat them 5-0.

I watched the game again tonight and I noticed a lot of that. Also it was clear that we took our foot of the pedal quite a bit. It was men playing against 16/17 year olds so it had to have been awkward for our lads to put in full blooded challenges against kids. You see that in the foul stats. They played very well and they should be commended about that. And we let them more than we should. But it was clear on watching it again our players knew what they were up against and showed the Liverpool kids a lot of respect. And I’m sure Dean Smith would have stressed to do a professional job but not to go out of our way to act like wankers. I think we accomplished all of that.
