As a massive Aston Villa fan watching all this going on from a business trip in France and taking updates from my son watching the game back at home, I really hope Villa push on and give Liverpool what they deserve for their lack of respect and arrogance at a major English competition - a good hiding!!!

It is sobering to watch but they're a club that has been building for a few years now, they're Europeans champions, confidence is probably at record levels and they've obviously got a fantastic youth set up there.  We're basically starting from scratch at all levels.  Our club was so badly run for so many years that we're way behind most clubs, not just Liverpool.
