The idea that you can play on with a hamstring Pull is ludicrous.
Extremely poor decision making.

Lose 3-1 before we go on a winning run over Christmas.

Cheers. So as usual not one question on tactics/strategy. Not one question whether Dean ever looks at what he does or reflects on his decisions? I get the players have to execute on the game plan but what about the manager during the game? How does he adapt? Subs/players/position I find this season we act too late or not at all and we’ve been really hurt by an inability to see things coming or adjust to see games out.

Leicester exploited our biggest weakness last week, offering chances with stupid mistakes. They have the forwards to punish you. Sheffield Utd are the type to exploit the 2nd weakness, not lasting the 90 mins. They’ll do nothing special but press and get in our faces. It’ll be too much for us as the game wares on.

2-0 them with both goals in the last 15 mins.

I can’t help thinking there is something sisyphean about Dean Smiths game management.
Expect nothing from tomorrow.

Not wishing to have green eyed envy at Sheffield but they’ve done well and will probably have the better of us. We’ll have the last laugh in a year when they’re relegated. Irony.

I had to look up “sisyphean” and at the present rate of change, I agree, except that it’s “today” now.

First away game of the season today (we've been slacking). The only other kind of away we've done was watching the Norwich game in Dublin so if we win or get a similar result, you can all thank me later. I reckon it'll be 2-2 though. Wesley and Tresequet for us.

Dean is more Halcyon with a large dollop of Atropos.

Come on the Villa boys! I'm going to side step the obvious difficulty level of this game to suggest that we need to go on an undefeated sequence of games starting today. With the fixtures we have especially after today I would hope we could go on a winning run into the new year. I'd certainly take a draw against Sheff Utd. I'd start with Engels, Guilbert and Hause in the absence of Mings. I'd also start maybe controversially with Kodjia. We don't know if this guy is premier class because he's not really played there, but he is capable of scoring international goals, so deserves the opportunity. If he does well his Villa future maybe secured or he will find a willing buyer in Jan. If he doesn't we'll find out soon enough. Wes off the bench may suit him better at the mo to help rebuild his confidence, which I have seen is slipping away. As for the midfield, it will be interesting to see who is selected. UTV!!

Some games you can guess the probability of the outcome but to me a win, loss or draw would not be a massive surprise.

Either team could win this or it might be a draw.
This is what I come on here for...keep it up lads.

Who knows??, one thing is for sure we need to start racking up the points, fast approaching the half way stage with 15 points on the board, its just not good enough to stay up, this is going to be a very difficult game, I would be happy with a point, elated to get 3 points.

Didn’t Sisyphus have a large dollop of Atropos?
